It's all about the MONEY!They don't seem to care about the animals, just getting paid.I'm in business and understand the need to make a profit and keep the lights on but my visit there was insane.

We took our dog to this clinic despite reading some bad reviews. It was late and we had little choice though I WISH we had driven to Loveland or Boulder to one of the clinics there. There are some really sharp vets at this clinic, but the overall experience was the worst consumer interaction I have ever had once the crisis had passed. Bottom line- they have the expertise and the facilty to help your pet. The stress level you experience at the onset of your pets' malady will be nothing compared to what happens when you get the bill. They are capitalizing on people in crisis that are seeking help for a loved one. There is nothing illegal about what they do but Heaven help you if you come into dispute with them. It apparently happens all the time from reading other posts.

We are truly blessed to have the facility and staff of Aspen Meadow Veterinary Specialist in our town of Longmont, Colorado. My sweet Doberman has had to have 4 knee surgeries over the course of the last year and a half, she's just turned 4 years old. Needless to say, we have gotten to know AMVS quite well! The staff, from front desk-to-surgeon specialists-to-vet techs and interns: all treat both pet and human with great respect and care. They are kind and thorough in communicating/reviewing pre-surgery information which includes information about procedure and costs. Matt Rooney called me within minutes of surgery completion to update me (such a relief to hear right away!), they carefully review the post-op procedures with you and will always take calls with questions and provide prompt answers along the way. Aspen Meadow Veterinary Specialists has been caring for our sick dog since January when she was diagnosed with Cushings Disease. Dr. Wendy Yaphe is incredibly thorough and comprehensive in her approach, leaving no stone unturned to ensure the best care possible for our pet. We can't say enough good things about Aspen Meadow Veterinary Clinic. We've brought our dogs there at the recommendation of our primary vet when we needed specialists for medical and surgical care. From cancer to knee surgery, over the last six years we've received exceptional care. We feel very fortunate to have a vet clinic with such a high level of expertise in our area. In addition to being great clinicians, they're wonderful with our animals and treat us with warmth, compassion and respect. The emergency clinic is the best in our opinion. We brought our 7 year old golden in who was close to dying from a blockage in her intestine. Dr. Rooney operated and removed the blockage and thanks to him and his staff our golden came home and made a complete recovery. They saved her life...what more can we say but thank you again and again.

My husband and I are really thankful for everything everyone at AMVS did for Deacon. The staff were all really nice and helpful.

I am so appalled that my Family (my 7 year old son and I)basically had our little Shitzsu Poodle Diego swept right out of our arms. I was in good faith that this "animal hospital" was going to help us get Diego better and we would be on our way. Little did i now that this "Emergency Veterinary", (Who if i quote: "We know what an important part of the family a pet is... We treat your dog as if he or she were a member of our own family")has a history of taking pets from thier families.. Yes i know that there are fee's that that come along with services, BUT COME ON! we had twelve hundred dollars in our hands ready to pay for services done and they just kept raising the bill. What was a shock to me was that a nurse there at this facility was ready to take over Our Diego.. I wouldn't be suprised if this nurse doesn't have to pay a dime of what they wanted to charge us to bring our Diego home.

All they are concerned about is the money! We brought our dog there in the middle of the night for an emergency and they wouldn't give us time to make financial arrangements during business hours so we had to relinquish our dog before they would treat him. When we tried to get the dog back, they would not give us a straight answer as to what the amount of the treatments were and kept giving us quotes that had duplicated charges on them.

One evening after a romp in the field i got my dog home only to find a thorn stuck in her eye. My wife and I tried to remove it ourselves with a wet q tip but it wouldnt budge. When we got to the clinic, approx 9pm or so, the staff was very eager to help us. It was decided that she would have to be put under to remove the thorn and the procedure would take a couple of hours. They called us around midnight or so to have us pick up our pooch. The entire staff was very kind and the procedure actually cost me three times less then when I had to take her to Banfield in the local petsmart for a vaginal infection.(She is such a handful at times, lol, going on 7 and still acts like a pup.) For my experience I would love to have had them as our regular vet, but they only do emergency medicine. Personally I would definitly recommend them and they are also great at answering questions over the phone.

I was disappointed (understatement) with the care we received when my dog's labor stopped. They kept me there with a litter of new puppies for 3 hours and after over 2, I found out they didn't have the meds we needed! I took my dog and puppies home to administer the medication that I got from my regular vet myself only to have 2 dead puppies. If this wasn't upsetting enough, the clinic was filthy....diarrhea sprayed up to the front door (outside) and hair and grime within. A friend went for the same problem 1 month later (after I had been assured this would never happen again) only to lose her entire litter due to a long wait for a c section and oversedation of the mother! Do not go there!!!!

I reviewed this clinic a little too soon. I have an issue with discretion and intrusion with this clinic. We let them know our primiary vet would work with any followup care for our dog. It has been discovered our little guy is terminally ill. They were a little pushy with trying to "work" with our dog's vet and trying to get us to come back in for followup care, instead of with our vet. You could see the confusion of our vet when one of the vets at Aspen CALLED our vet and talked with him while we were in the middle of an appointment (I made the mistake of telling Aspen when the appointment was going to happen). There's a fine line between trying to be thorough and being pushy. Comes off as money driven, like TK below indiciated. However, I think this is isolated to one of the divisions of this clinic. Not sure why that one person ("tk") below gave this place 1 star. Everything that they said just isn't true. It is a clean and huge facility with board-certified vets in surgery, ER/critical care, and internal medicine. They also offer PT. They provide a HIGH level of care in emergencies and difficult situations, which does cost money. I would suggest inquiring into pet insurance to manage costs for critical situations. There are affordable plans. This facility is nicer than some human hospitals/ERs. We had to take our pet in the early hours of the morning because he was having extreme pain. We got to see our little man ANY time we wanted to after surgery...he was there for nearly 4 days. They were very accomodating, called us with updates, and let us call any time we wanted additional updates. The surgeon, ER doc, and all the nurses were awesome, willing to talk with us about the situation and options, and were very sensitive to our little man.

We had an emergency with our St Bernard and she ended up having to be put down. While determining the level of care we could give her we made it clear how much money we could spend and what we had already done for her. They not only offered to donate meds, but when it came time to put her to sleep they donated that procedure as well. They offered to cast her paw print for us before she was put down, when they presented the clay print it was tastefully done with a nice ribbon and her name stamped on it. The staff was very caring and helped us decide what we could and should do for our beloved pet.

There is no way to thank all the excellent staff of Aspen Meadow Emergency hospital. Duca and I came in to their facility in a time of need and we were met with professional, courteous and well-trained employees. Our emergency was handled with care and concern and I left knowing that my pet was in capable and caring hands.It was determined that Duca needed surgery to repair his broken leg. There were several options for this procedure and surgical specialists Dr. Duerr spent a solid hour on the telephone with me discussing the pros and cons of each method. He did this in a manner that was extremely sensitive to the medical and emotional needs of both me and my dog. He conveyed eveything in a logical and simple language that was not condescending in nature. My puppy accidentally got into rat poison at a friend’s house and had to be rushed to the ER side of Aspen Meadow. The waiting room was HUGE, bright, and clean. The waiting rooms were thoroughly cleaned after each patient… I know this because the day was busy and they apologized for making me wait an extra 5 minuets to clean the room. They had fresh coffee, juice, water, and soda, for the time that I spent there. I was impressed with the amount of animals that go there and the care and individual care each of them received.

To begin with - this is an emergency clinic for pets that need emergency service, ie: those that have been hit by a car. They are on-call 24-7, and yes they will charge for it. They are also an integrative practice which includes physical therapy, laser therapy, and massage. If you are looking for a practice that will look at your pet from every aspect then this is the Veterinarian for you. They have top-notch Orthopedic surgeons and they have a brand new facility with all the latest equipment to care for your pet.They are a little more expensive - but your pet will be in the ahands of knowlegeable experts. We are lucky to have them in Longmont.

Our experience with AMVS was truly positive. I couldn't thank them enough for everything they did to make our Bailey well. Bailey is a happy dog now and they made it so we can enjoy her and have fun with her again. Everyone in the practice was kind and very caring. I would never go here again ,this is the scummiest animal clinic I have ever seen or even heard of, their system is set up not to cure your pet , but to separate you from as many dollars that you have.They take your pet and don't allow you to see them again while they pound you for VERY expensive procedures, you really take your chances with them , you never know what is real and what is just a sales job
