My dog was having seizures. Was new to area. Stopped in to see if they could see her. Told me it would be two days before they could ‘fit us in’. They had NO patients when I was there. And I thought this was a HOSPITAL? That means you have emergencies and adjust accordingly. Long story short, girls at front desk seemed to care less and did not seem to care. I went somewhere else. Avoid them. Wish my small home town bet wasn’t so far away. They really cared.

Terrible excuse for a veterinarian! When I called to give them a heads up that I was bringing my dog in with a severe inflamed abscess on his paw, they told me "We don't have availability for that". WHAT?? Are you kidding me?? When I got home from work, I noticed my dog was in obvious pain, limping around and licking his paw constantly. They are the only vet open after noon on Saturdays, so I was going there despite the warnings I have received from several people concerning Little Apple vets outrageous prices. I told them I was willing to wait however long it took. However they refused service because they would be closing in a couple of hours. Well duh! They still had 2 hours to squeeze my dog in. So now my poor doggie will be in pain this weekend, although I am trying some home remedies. I guess I can thank them for saving me probably $200 + They don't even deserve one star because professional veterinarians would not turn a dog in need away.

They put on a show! The kennels are not properly cleaned, dried feces and food are left on the bars of kennels and runs. The cat condos have exposed wood which cannot be properly disinfected because wood is porous and will harbor bacteria, viruses, and fungi. They skipped one of my dogs doses of medication while she was boarding and they lie about how long they walk the dogs for. Its not 5-10 minutes. Its as quickly as possible which results in pets urinating and defecating in their kennels. They will also talk about certain clients behind their back, especially if you say anything to the receptionist named Ashley. Oh and not to mention their prices are outrageously high. Their are better places out their...I found one.

A friend told Me about the Little Apple Vet. You did such a good job cleaning our dogs teeth.Your staff was professional kind organized and reassuring with the care of our fifteen year old Shihtzu. Our other vet clinic was going to charge $700-1000 to clean our dogs teeth. I didn't know what to do. I am glad that a friend told me about your clinic. The price was much more affordable at about $200. Our dog has seemed happier and healthier since the cleaning. I felt that she was treated very well at your clinic.

They were excellent. The prices and charges were what I was quoted and expected. Very informative. I appreciate the "virtual tour" option.

I watched this hospital being built and knew it would be a top of the line facility. Liz is an excellent veterinarian, loves her animals and just a wonderful person. Her workers show the same attributes.

In summary: absolutely horrible. They push for unnecessary surgery and shots



They are horrible people, they care more about money than taking care of your pets.



Sure the vets are nice and seem sympathetic but their recommendations are not honest. After a urine analysis and an x-ray was told my cat had Struvite stones in her bladder which had to be removed surgically. After informing them for the 2nd time we were moving in 3-4 weeks the response was 'how far are you moving?' After informing her again we would be moving close to 1000 miles away and inquiring if there was any other option then the $1000, we were told very rarely do the Struvite stone/crystals dissolve through diet alone and would need the surgery and preceded to push for the surgery before we left. When i reminded her we were leaving in 3-4 weeks she got nervous and stooped pushing.



They gave us the antibiotics needed to stop the infection and we bought the prescription diet bladder health food. The front desk refused to give me a copy of the x-ray stating the vet in the new state would simply need to request it....this proved to be completely false.... There are legal reason why the x-ray has to be held in the vets records for a period of time but as the owner i can request a copy or to borrow their copy.



Attempts to get said x-ray:



1. walking in and asking for a copy to take with me: NO: resulted in the nurse saying it could not be released to me and the vet in the new state would simply need to request it and it would be sent to them but would need to be returned eventually. OK



2. The vet in the new state requested the medical records and the x-ray: NO: i had to sign a release form before the x-ray could be sent. NO PROBLEM



3. send back the signed form and ask if it will be sent to me or the new vet: NO: I would have to come in person to pick it up.



After communicating that I was now 1000 miles away and the best I could do was have a friend in the state pick it up I heard nothing back before the appointment with the new vet. The stones had DISSOLVED, not a hint left of the three stones seen on their original x-ray. The new vet explained it was not uncommon for the stones to dissolve through diet alone. When we returned home the Little Apple clinic had responded that they did not know we had spoken with someone previously and a copy would be made available to us. I responded that they could keep that x-ray and unnecessary surgery and to never contact me again.



They are horrible people, they care more about money than taking care of your pets.

This place is awful! I'm not sure why it has such high reviews. They almost killed my cat by giving it a sever abscess from during surgery in a non sterile setting. I have this documented from another vet that saved her life.They are lucky I am not suing them. I have and will continue to tell all my friends not to go to this EXTREMELY overpriced so called veterinary service

Excellent! Highly Recommend!! All your clients, whether two-legged, 4-legged, winged or furred are treated with care, concern and respect. All of the staff is friendly, courteous and helpful. You treat my girls with almost as much love as I do and that is a great comfort!!

I take my Maltese to Little Apple every two months for grooming. They always do a great job and I am never disappointed with their services. They're a little higher on some prices, but I would say it's definitely worth it.

I recently took my dog to the Little Apple Veterinary hospital. The assistant was friendly and the veterinarian was informative. Both explained the medications and treatments well to me. I did not have to wait long of an assistant to check me in. Thank you for providing great care for our newly adopted rescue dog!

I was so impressed by the follow up phone call I received to check on my parakeets the next day. This kind of treatment just can't be beat!Their veterinarian truly cares about your pets.

I've been going to Little Apple Veterinary Clinic for 6 years now. I think they are the greatest. They let me drop off my pet at 7 in the morning so I can get to work at no extra charge. They always call me with quotes if anything is found wrong with Sissy that I don't know about and they give me options if i am tight on money. they are always nice and sissy always runs in the door.

I've been very happy with they way Little Apple has respected my choices and cared for my dog the past few years I have been going to them. The staff is very friendly and patient.

I do feel like this place is all about money. I like that I can get all my services here. That is convenient. However I took my cat in for spaying and when I went to pick her up they tried to charge me and extra $100.00 because supposedly the cat had ear mites, which I have never seen, and they did not even call me about while they had her in theri facility. I refused to pay for that. I take my dogs to have them groomed. the groomer does a great job, but I can never just take them for grooming with them charging me for some shot they supposedly need. I have never gone in there where I just get what I came for. They are always addidng on other charges.

The front desk staff is as unfriendly as they come, the girl was very pushy about me paying for a service I didn't even receive yet. I went there to see where my dog would be staying while being boarded. I have a 80lb boxer and they wanted to put him in a tiny kennel where he wouldn't even be able to stand up.. as the woman was showing me around, I saw numerous big dogs in small tiny kennels.. Poor dogs. I quickly decided against leaving my dog here and will NEVER be back to this place.

This place is all about money!! They always charge me way more than the quote was originally for. Dr. Gardner is very unprofessional!! They are clean and appear to be a nice vet but in all reality they are unorganized and careless. I've taken my dogs here for 3 years and have had multiple altercations that were promised to never happen again and sure enough, I gave them another chance and was a fool for it. Unless you're wanting to blow a ton of unnecessary money, take your pet somewhere else!

Little Apple Vet is a wonderful clinic....I used this clinic when it was located of Ft. Riley Blvd. in the 90's. At that time it was operated by the original owner who was absolutely the best. I have been living in Johnson County for the past 11 years and have used the same vet for that many years.....I thought Little Apple was comparable.......but to my surprise is a lot more expensive. I love my pets and want the best, but I cannot afford these prices. My two free barn cats have cost me over 300$ and that was just a for second set of shots and of course the exam .....but that was just the beginning...I looked at the sheet that was given to me about neutering and it blew my mind....amazing....so I found a clinic in Wamego to take care of the neutering....about 88$ each....did not charge me for an exam......which is amazing...I have two cats....a dog....and horse and plans to get a couple of rescue dogs.....and another horse.....oh yes....my Spring shots and exam for my horse was much cheaper than what I spent on my other pets.....and he charges me a barn call.....go figure.....I give one star for Little Apple....for ripping me off.....and disappointing me.....and yes I'm sure that are well trained ....and its great you have all the latest equipment....but in the end you ruin it by being greedy.....if they bust as doctors they can always go into sales....

Nice response to Janielle's comment regarding your pricing but I just moved here from California and everything is high in Cali, or so I thought! You are high and your comment regarding Veterinarian Specialists is just a recommendation. Note 6% is near three times current inflationary cost indexes so I guess over three years you increased prices 18% verses inflations estimated 6% CPI?

People love their pets and do desire excellent care that you provide, but the economy is bad and being taken advantage of isn't something anyone needs!
