Manhattan Public Library, founded in 1856, serves the informational and recreational needs of citizens in the United States. The library provides a variety of books, magazines, journals, study materials and periodicals for children and adults. It also provides books in digital and electronic formant, and offers Internet access and an online catalog to members. The library has a special division for children and teenagers that organize summer reading programs and outdoor events. The library has various agencies, including the North Central Kansas Libraries system, and the North Central Kansas Sub-Regional Library, and National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped.
