Was looking to sell some of my books and so I researched Google to see who buys good condition books. HPBOOKS website sounded like they would give you a "fair" price. So I traveled across town, about10 miles to visit them. Because their website didn't have a pricing scale, only how they grade them. I was still curious how they would price items. I didnt carry in my vintage collection though. I wanted to see how they work. So they quoted me for 8 to 10 paperbacks and 3 of them were hardbacks. Which turned out to be like only 15 to 20 cents each. I was in shock at the low offer, I just took the ticket and checkout. And I regretted not just taking my books and walking out. But, was too embarrassed to ask for them back.

You would have to bring in a truckload to even make enough for your gas. Time was wasted too. And they rejected 12 books I brought in, but said they would donate them for me, like their Web page said they do..... Duh ( I can take them to a small bookstore and get a great in store credit for them).

I learned a good lesson on this trip. And was kinda disappointed that their prices on their big book collection was like going into a big box bookstore for new books. Not as good of a deal on used books as you would think. They have a huge selection on books, music and movies. I love books and probably would have spent my earnings in their store, but I wouldn't have been able to buy anything with a few pennies.

Just was not worth it to me. And staff was okay nice, but not as friendly and sincere to do business with you.
