We contracted with Ricky's Pools to re-plaster our commercial pool and refinish the pool deck. The issues started right away. Within months of opening the pool, the new plaster was cracking. Shortly thereafter, a giant crack appeared across one of the steps and eventually the pool deck started cracking as well (they sealed all of the expansion joints). a crew came back out to make the repair and was in and out within only a few hours. Needless to say, the repair didn't last a week. The worst part of the experience, however, was that Rick kept dodging my calls. After weeks of trying to get the issue resolved, it was very clear that Ricky's Pools had no intention of standing behind their work. Upon hiring a reputable pool builder, the shortcuts that Ricky's Pool took became very apparent. Ricky's Pools is the cheapest game in town for a reason. Before signing a contract with this company for thousands of dollars, do yourself a huge favor and check out the Better Business Bureau to see who you are getting involved with.

my mother just purchased an above ground pool from them and hasnt had nothing but problems they put concrete blocks down to hold the posts up and they have now cut holes in the liner. and this would be the 2nd time they have had holes in the liner. she called them to come fix the problem they made and will not come fix at their cost. they dont ever answer her calls or call her back when she leaves them a message.. this places needs to be closed down.

Ricky Pleau who is the owner at Rickys Pool is a horrible contractor who needs his license revoked. We signed a contract with him July 23,2015. He told us start to finish it would be 6 weeks. We did not get to use our pool until June 23,2016. We had to pay another Pool Service Company to come clean our pool and get it suitable to swim in. We are still out of a heater, spa and pool cover and LED light for spa. He refuses to finish the work that he was contracted to do. We have to pay another company to come and rock our hot tub. We have to pay another company to stain the concrete that he was supposed to. We have now had to pay an attorney to attempt to get a refund on money we've paid out due to him not completing the job. I would love to share pictures of how he left us hanging. If I knew how we were going to get ripped off after paying $48k+ we would have never hired him to do anything for us. Rethink before spending your hard-earned money at Ricky's Pools.

Ricky built my in ground pool approximately 3 years ago. I had two other pools built prior to this one. I went with the salt water system and believe me there has been little to no maintenance with the salt system. I had chlorine systems prior to this and spent a small fortune on chemicals. Since the day of completion, never have any corrective repairs of any kind been done.. I did my research before choosing Ricky's Pools. I got quotes from several others that were thousands of dollars more with less features. I couldn't say enough about how pleased I have been. Ricky did stamped colored concrete and added outside post lights at my request. The pool is absolutely beautiful! I recommended Ricky to my sister and she is having a pool built by Ricky as I write this. I would recommend Ricky to anyone who is considering building a pool! Top notch quality and professionalism. Thank you Ricky and crew for the awesome job! Ricky can show my pool anytime!

Horrible place!!! Incompetent,rude,owner. This man is the most unprofessionl person I have ever dealt with. They left our pool a cloudy mess with sand still pouring in it after they left. I was so disappointed with the entire experience. He refused to take the blame for what they did. He told me to get out of his store and find someone else to fix the mistakes he made. Words can not fully explain the lack of skills.. professionalism.. and work ethic of this company. Read all these reviews, beleive them and stay aware from this horrible company! I hope to be able to attach pictures to this review. Worse business I have ever dealt with! I only gave 1 star because I couldn't post the review with 0 stars.

Horrible owner. I called because another driver and I witnessed Ricky driving a blue dodge truck. He was speeding, swerved into on-coming traffic, and passed on a double line. When I stopped at the gas station the other driver was telling me about it and said that he wasn't going to call it in. Well since the truck had the business on it I thought I'd let them know. Well his wife answered the phone, acted like she cared, then about fifteen minutes (unsolicited) Ricky calls me back fussing at me, lying about his speed, and was very rude and unprofessional. I wouldn't want them to do any business with me or my family.

Ricky's Pool staff is courteous and professional. they are the most honest group of professionals I have come in contact with in a long time. The service they provide is excellent!

He has 8800 of my money and I have no pool. Asked for my money now for 4 months and still waiting. I would not put a down payment with this company. My self will NEVER put a down payment again with any companies. RUN is my best advice.

This is the absolute worst place in South Carolina. We recently purchased a home that he had done alot of work on the inground pool and hot tub and within a few months we are having to pay another company to redo all of his mess. We had him come out several times and he was rude and refused to warranty his work blaming it on anything but what he had done. We have had several experts review the problems all with the same conclusion-it was all done cheaply and shoty using the wrong materials. DO NOT go to this place.

Ricky Pools did a great job installing our pool. .They did exactly what he said they would do and actually did some extras for us that was very helpfull. We have recently reccomended them to friends who became interested after they saw our pool and the Quality of thier work.

Rick at Rickys' Pools completed my pool back in the summer of 2007 and did an amazing job. We have used it for four years now and it still works and looks as great as the day it was put in. He has been great to deal with and has helped us out with any questions or concerns we have had over the years. Ricky installed our pool within the time framed he promised and for the amount we agreed on. We still use him today for work around our house for different concrete jobs because of the quality of the work. Rickys' Pools is the only pool company I will ever use!

This is a terrible company to do business with. I have not been happy with the quality of our pool, working with them was like pulling teeth - no communication. All I can say is go somewhere else. don't make the same mistake I did. Ricky's Pools doesn't care once they get your money.

Rick was absolutely WONDERFUL to work with. We requested several custom items for our vinyl in ground pool and everything we asked for was delivered!!! We signed a contract in April of 2010 and the hole was dug six weeks later and the whole process took about 2 to 3 weeks. We get lots of compliments on our pool and Rick has been great about following up on any questions I have had over the past year that we've owned the pool. He even rushed over around Christmas this year when we thought we had frozen pipes to help us out. Great guy- the person writing all those negative reviews all over the place is one customer who must have had a bad experience and is more upset about the timing of his pool. Our pool did start about 2 weeks later than expected, but rain happens and we were patient about it.

Me and my family had saved for months to buy a new pool. We interviewed multiple contractors and decided to use Rick Pleau with Ricky's Pools at the beginning of summer. He guaranteed he would be done within 6 weeks or less. He even put this in the contract and used it to separate himself from the other competitors. His point was that anyone can start on time, but so many contractors let the work drag on for weeks and months. My pregnant wife and small children could not wait to cool off in a new pool. The contract was signed and a start date was set. The start date was then pushed back several times and Ricky began to lie about obtaining permits, marking the utilities and what he promised verbally and in the contract. Well into the sixth week, work still had not begun, permits were never obtained, and utilities still had not been marked. We realized Rick was not going to uphold the contract and would continue to lie to us. We let him know we would be seeking another contractor since he had breached our contract. We asked for our nearly $10,000 deposit to be returned. He refused to return a dime and said the money was his whether he did the work or not. We have been forced to hire an attorney and begin the process of filing a lawsuit. Now instead of enjoying our pool, we are paying attorney fees with the money we have left, while Ricky collects interest on money that isn't his. We have a contract and other documentation to verify our claims. Buyers, don't make the same mistake we did.
