Amazing in the most difficult moment of my life :(

I am a 22 year old recent college graduate. My precious baby boy, Tuffy who is my adored cat of 17 years left my arms on 10/6/14. He has been with me since the age of 5. Through my struggles and my triumphs this angel has remained my most precious family pride and joy. To say I loved him is an understatement. I had to make a decision for him since he would have held on all night for me, not even himself. Originally our primary vet (All PETS Animal Hospital) in Columbia Heights, Mn was where my mother called. Unfortunately, they were unbelievably insensitive and rude as they were closing when we called. They referred us to this location in Blaine. Thank The Lord for that. From the moment we entered AEVS, my angel was wrapped in a towel in a state very much like a coma with little movement. They immediately took us to a private and very comfortable room with dim-lighting. Being that I was nearly hyperventilating I was crying so much, it was nice to get the privacy that they so kindly provided me with. The Vet tech explained what is going to happen. They gave me all the time in the world with my baby. They provided a doorbell for when I was ready. They took paw prints for me so I can get my baby's paws tattooed. The Doctor was amazing, Dr. Heather Yuill. She re-explained what may or may not happen (in case the vet-tech forgot anything) she kissed my kitty, as did all of the staff. When the doctor injected the anestesia, as I was balling-she had genuine tears in her eyes. She grabbed my hand as his heartbeat went faint and said "Tuffy is now gone." Please go here for any emergency service. It would be a mistake to go anywhere else. In the hardest moment of my life, they were gentle the whole way through even after his passing. Thank you.

Blaine Area Pet Hospital

I have been going to see Dr. Jay Epping since my parents first brought our family dog in for shots. He is very nice to our cat. She does not seem to mind going to see the doctor knowing she will be well cared for by both him and his staff!

official vet

also, I forgot to add, they are the vet clinic that the Blaine PD brings their K9 dogs to. There's something to be said about the vet who's earned the trust of the K9 unit!! :)

Outstanding!!!

I have two dogs that I bring to these guys and they are FABULOUS!!! I have an older dog (14) who I've had issues with at other vet clinics. In the past, with other vets, she's been treated rough, or "less important" because she was old. The vets at Blaine Area Pet Hospital have been amazing with her!! And I feel that they value her lift as much at 14 as they do my 2 yrs old!! They are gentle, thorough, and realistic about treatment. They are a little bit more expensive than the last few vet clinics I've been to, but they are WELL WORTH IT!!!!! You definitely DO get what you pay for with them, and more!! As a multiple dog owner (both old and young), I would recommend these guys to anyone!!

My least favorite Vet

I had 2 disapointing visits to this hospital. One was with my troubled dog in which they told my mother to put him down after he had ate "gunk" from our pond. We didn't like their attitudes about putting him down so we went to the University of Minnesota and they "fixed" our puppy after two/three days, he is now alive and good! Then my family went to them with my cat who was attacked by the neighbor's dog and after they made us spend a ton of money to do tests and keep the cat overnight they told us that our cat needed an amputation for his back leg. We decided to go to a different Vet Clinic and they said the exact opposite of what the Blaine hospital said! My cat didn't need an amputation after all, it's been a year and that same cat has 4 working legs! Our family made up our minds and we are NEVER going to this Vet Hospital again, we were very disapointed.
