This vet miss diagnosed a little kitten that was terribly mauled by a dog. I asked about the prognosis because if I were going to put over $900.00 into a farm kitten then I at least needed to know that it had a good shot at survival. I gladly spent the money because my wife loved that kitten. After a few days at home, the wounds were getting much worse. My wife returned to the vet and was told that the kitten would lose it back leg and to survive would need several surgeries and skin graphs. The vet said it if were hers she would put it down. And so after giving my wife false hope and making the kitten suffer for a few days at home, she was taken back to the vet and put to sleep. I'm not a vet, but when we got home with this kitten on the first trip, I thought it had to be impossible for it to survive because its wounds were so horrible. That is why I asked about her survival chances. We were told that she looked good and was on the upswing. It seems that the vet cared more about keeping the kitten alive with IV, pain killers, and antibiotics for several days at the clinic so they could run up a big tab, and then also charge us for putting her down. DO NOT TAKE ANY ANIMAL HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT THEM AT ALL. The vet who put the kitten down was extremely callus when talking to me about the original diagnosis and said that the owner would most probably not provide any kind of refund. Every dime would have been well spent if the kitten had survived because my wife loved it so, but to spend that much and then realize that the kitten never had a shot unless I was willing to invest 2 to 3 thousand dollars, well that is another story all together. I do not think that there was enough care or thought about the kitten or my wifes feelings. It appears it was just about milking as much money as they could out of me.

Head doctor and owner of this clinic is not thorough in her exams whatsoever. Also displayed unprofessionalism and condescension to her employees in front of my family and I. If you must go here I would ask for the relief vet she is lovely. Otherwise I would take your business elsewhere to someone that cares about your beloved family pet, not your money. I wouldn't trust the head doc to diagnose a beanie baby. I will not be returning and I recommend for the health and correct diagnosis of your animal you do the same.

this is my cat who died a month ago today. to this day, the vet who I took him to originally has not showed any compassion for our cat and the day that we had to put him down (en route to Charlottesville to a better vet) they called and said we had to make a payment, no hey how's your cat or anything. yesterday my family got a warrant for not paying (it hasn't even been a month) so my mom just got off the phone with the vet and the vet said she could care less about any of the animals and told my mom she doesn't want any of our animals brought there. DO NOT GO TO COPPER RIDGE ANIMAL HOSPITAL (mt. Crawford, Virginia) they do not care for your animal what so ever.
