I have been a customer at Rustblue Gunsmithing for about 8 years. Over the 8 years Sergey serviced a number of my shotguns, rifles and handguns.
Besides fixing ejectors, doing trigger jobs, fixing dents, and installing scopes Sergey specializes in fine custom jobs, like fitting my shotgun and competition pistol exactly to my body dimensions, modifying and refinishing my stock, micro-welding, rust bluing and many other customizations. Sergey is very knowlegable in firearms and I would recommend his services to anyone.

One cannot ask for a finer experience when dealing with Rustblue Gunsmithing. The workmanship on firearms is first-class at a reasonable and fair price. A recent example is when I had work performed on a vintage side by side shotgun that had the rib holding the two barrels come free. Sergey remediated the problem and the shotgun is shooting flawlessly. Sergey is an extremely capable gunsmith and is able to work on both vintage and modern firearms of all types. Sergey is an honest and upfront person and he will tell you whether he is able to help you or not. I recommend him highly without any reservations. He is truly a rare craftsman of this trade.

Has done a couple of minor repairs for me. The latest was disappointing. File marks on front sight, adhesive leftover, metal dust; an altogether very sloppy job that I'll cold blue myself.
He has one other that I left with him but I'm increasingly dubious about his interest in making it through the repair. Either way, when it's done, I probably won't go back which is regrettable as I would value a good local smith and seem to have plenty of work for one.
No, I never raised an eyebrow about his prices, but for any price I'd expect better work.

Update: When I picked up the other gun today he became confrontational when I said I was going to deduct the cost of the repair to the first (now damaged) gun. He said he should be shot for such work. Folks, it doesn't get more inappropriate than that, but he tried: He would call the police. He would notify all the other gunsmiths he knew about me.
Maybe I'm the one who should call somebody. This guy is way off center. Be warned. Stay away.

The owner (Sergey Lyalko) has replaced the slide stop and the mag release button and installed adjustable rear sights and a tritium front sight on it. He has done a superb job at a very reasonable price.Alexander Gutman of Marlborough

An excellent experienced gunsmith and resatorer of early guns with a great deal of knowledge. I have used him several times for some of my more difficult restoration projects and he has awlays provided superior results, on time at a very affordable cost. He is very patient and friendly and always willing to spend the time to explain his suggested appraoch to a restoration project. His prices are very fair.

Several of my antique firearms have been restored by Serge Lyalko at Rustblue Gunsmithing in Natick, MA. His work is superb and prices very fair. He displays a great depth of professional knowledge and skill and a great degree of creative thinking in arriving at solutions to restoration issues. The most impressive work he did for me was to repair the central rod of an 1860's Bacon revolver that had been snapped in half. The revolver was in mint condition and appeared to have been broken very early in its life and set aside. Sergey took on a problem that many gunsmiths would have rejected and solved the problem restoring the pistol to like new fully functioning condition through a virtual invisible fusing of the two parts.Normal repairs are no problem for him and they are always done in surprisingly quick time and always with A+ results and appearance. He has a friendly client oriented style. He always takes the time to patiently explain his suggested approaches to restoration projects
