Terrible terrible service. Never ever hire them. It is one big scam. My carpet looks and feels as dirty as it was before they came. I complained and they said thats the way its supposed to be. But when they were at my house, they told me it would feel brand new. No, it doesn't! It feels worse then it was before they came!

Used L&n for years, did adequate job with average pricing every year.

This year in particular is why I will never patron L&N again.

The employee gave us a quote for our house with our normal pricing, and when the tech was sent to our house we had left my dad to pay. The tech proceeded to charge my house for a different price $20 more. The invoice was paid, but due to the discrepancy in price I had decided to call L&N.

The manager Crystal Balulis reamed at me over the phone saying it's my fault because we did not remind the tech of our pricing. Also that we were never given the original quote for $189. How would we know about this quote if we did not call she ahead, receive the quote and then make the appointment?

The money wasn't the biggest issue, the woman actually spoke to me condescendingly, cutting off my logical reasoning and raising her voice.

Really guys? You can have my $20 no big deal but you're terrible.

By the way, the 5 star review below is from that employee.

Ryan ruined my carpet and lied about it. He then tried to get me to pay him cash. He said they couldn't take checks

Ryan and Aaron are the worst 2 people I have ever encountered. They lied and took my money under the table. They denied what services they provided and called my payment a tip. When I asked about it, they said that I chose not to get that service and it would cost $375 to fix their mistake.

I had my carpets done a few weeks ago to clean 3 rooms, two full sets of stairs, and a hallway (counted as 5 rooms and hall). In spite of other bad reviews I can give L&N a strong recommendation, if you have realistic expectations. Here are some thoughts:

1. The price was very competitive. The lowest among the 'major' cleaning services that advertise in local flyers. I called at least 3 to compare and went with the cheapest.

2. I've used at least two different professional services, borrowed my friends bissell carpet shampooer, and rented a push behind carpet cleaning unit from a vacuum store. In comparison, the results of L&N were better than one of the professional services, the borrowed cleaner, and the rented cleaners I've tried.

3. My carpets are 12 years old and have gone through 4 kids (ages 6 to 15), their neighborhood friends (our house is a hangout place), and at least a dozen dog pee accidents over the 12 years. You can imagine the cumulative effect, but its not in the budget to replace carpets yet, and we were hoping that this cleaning would give us hope that we could stick with this carpet another few years. Hope was given.

4. Based on what was said in (3) we also have realistic expectations. Not expecting like new carpets, but wanted them clean enough that they looked presentable. On the day of, they two man cleaning team called 30 minutes before arriving and arrived well within the 4 hour window we were scheduled for. They were very professional and were in and out in about a hour. When they left, the carpets looked great!

5. Wicking part 1: This is the issue. If you don't have pets or liquid spills, then most likely your carpets will have mostly surface dirt which can be dealt with in a number of cleaning methods. However, on older carpets, once a pet has an accident, the urine can soak into the carpet padding below and dries. When you use any 'steam' or liquid type cleaner, the moisture reactivates the dried urine/liquid. At first the carpets will look great when cleaned. But as the carpets dry, this drying process actually draws the urine/liquid back to the surface through a process known as wicking (it has to do with fluid dynamics through fibrous material, but trust me it happens). Soooo, a day or two later when the carpet is dry, it will have what look like new stains, and in some cases will actually look worse than before the carpets were cleaned.

NOTE: This is clearly spelled out in the L&N paper work. However, L&N will return to retreat the wicked area if you call within 7 days. This is also in the paper work, but I would confirm over the phone.

6. Wicking part 2: After the initial treatment the carpet and stairs looked awesome. I put fans (box and ceiling) on the carpets as fast drying can help limit wicking (so I'm told). Sure enough, 24 hours later, there were noticeable big brown wicking spots ($%@!* dogs). I called L&N immediately and scheduled a 2nd visit, free of charge. I was cordial and offered to schedule the revisit at their convenience. They were appreciated and they were able to come 2 business days later. A different crew came by (as the original crew was scheduled elsewhere), they retreated the carpets (took 10-15 min) and after drying, the carpets look great! Not like new, but really, really nice. Much better than any other method used in the last 5 years.

7. Finally, while it took the two man crew 1 hour do do the original 5 rooms, which seems fast, given that there were two people, its really more like 1.5-2 man hours. Also, as pros, they work at least twice, if 3 to 4 times as fast as I could do it, as I know that doing the same space with the rental, it would take me 4 to 6 hours. Trust me, the math works out, and if you have realistic expectations, the value is good.

Recently, L&N Carpet Cleaning came to clean my carpets. The guys showed up within the time frame I was given, and the guys were friendly and polite. They offered my additional treatments, and were still friendly once I declined them. They moved a lot of my furniture for me. They cleaned my 6 rooms in a little less than an hour and my carpets looked great. They looked even better once they dried. I will use L&N again, and will recommend them to my friends and family as well.

L&N Carpet Cleaning was at the GR Home show with what appeared to be a great price for two rooms of carpet. Only $49.95. So, I signed up. Two weeks before the scheduled appointment, they called and asked if we could reschedule. I happily agreed as the original date did not work for me either. Well, Friday night before the new appointment, they called to confirm for the next day. The voicemail said; "if you could call us back, that would be great, otherwise we will see you tomorrow around 11." At 12:30, I called to see where they were. No answer. I called again about 1:30 to the owner and the emergency number. No answer. I called both numbers again. No answer. So after waiting for 6 hours for them to call me back or show up, we went to Meijer's and rented the new Bissell machine. We cleaned all of the carpets as thoroughly as we wanted and even the mats out of the cars. It has been 3 whole business days since my 5 messages and they have still not called. I wish there was a zero star option. Shame on them! That is NO way to run a business or treat your customers.

L&N Carpet cleaning was hired to clean our ducts, and didn't come close to completing this. I took photographs of the work. On 10/16/2013 L&N Carpets was hired to clean our ducts. According to my wife they asked her if she had allergies which she responded yes to. (Isn't this the reason everyone gets there ducts cleaned?) She then over heard what she thought was the more senior worker of the two on scene tell the junior worker that they would only be vacuuming the ducts because the resident has allergies. After they left I checked their work because I noticed cob webs in one of the cold air returns. The service cost $280.00. I put my phone down the registers and cold air returns to take pictures and I was appalled. At this point I was still ok because I assumed I would call L&N and they would come out to the property complete to job, and refund me my money. After emailing the photos to the manager Lori, and talking to her I was told that the photographs do not look like ducts (because they are cold air returns and run between the floor joist) I was told it looks like a small room, and she has never seen ducts with so much debris and drywall. I explained that we just did a large remodel and that was the reason for the debris. I was then told she could not confirm the time or the location the picture was taken. I advised her I had a time stamp, location set on my phone and that I would happily meet at the property. She said she was unable to meet. I then asked for a refund and she said she wouldn't be able to do this (because they don't give refunds). I then asked to speak to the owner and she said I am the person you speak to. I asked her who owned the store and she said Jerry. Lori said Jerry would call back at his convenience, and that he rarely stopped in the store except to bring her coffee. I then ended the phone call asking her to have Jerry call me back. She responded she would. About 30 min later I called back asking her to have someone out to the property today to clean the ducts and she said she didn't have anyone available. I asked her about tomorrow and she said she didn't have anyone available. She told me she wouldn't proceed until she talked to Jerry. I then asked her when someone could come fix the job and she said not until the 28th (10 days) but that she wouldn't schedule it if that wasn't going to resolve the issue. I am in shock that business practices like this exist. I expect a full refund and a complete duct cleaning.

Recently, I had the carpet and ducts cleaned in my house. While cleaning my carpet, the hose they tracked through the house rubbed up on two different wall corners causing 4ft & 3ft of damage to the paint job. The damage was so bad, we needed it patched before having it re-painted. When confronted with this issue they stated they are not at fault for any damage caused in your house (that alone should tell you not to use them) by their employees while they are working.

If that wasn't bad enough, they also popped an internal fuse on my furnace while cleaning my ducts which lead to a service man having to come fix the problem. When confronted with this issue, they claim they are not at fault for any illegal wires running in the ducts which they are claiming caused the problem. First of all, my house was built 5 years ago probably not illegal wiring in the ducts. Second of all, they must get this claim often if they have a prepared note on their bill and ready with a response on queue.

During the process of trying to contact them, the customer service was very rude and hard to get through. They basically laughed off my claim even after seeing the evidence.

In closing, they treated me poorly with no remorse and a lack of communication from the moment I contacted them with my issues. Funny how they are quick to reply when inquiring about their services yet takes over two weeks to even hear back from them when there was an issue! Not sure how it is my fault my walls were damaged and furnace shorted due to their jobs?!?! They obviously work by this motto!

When looking for a cleaning company, steer very clear of them as they have shown what a deceiving, horrible company they really are.
