Founded in 1984, De La Salle Academy is a private, independent middle school. The academy is a nonsectarian school that provides educational services for gifted and underprivileged adolescent students. It serves children from low-income families. The academy s curriculum includes math, language arts, Spanish, biology, history and physical science. Additionally, De La Salle Academy offers classes in public speaking, geography, and art and music. The academy provides several elective subjects, such as drama, astronomy, logic and a survey of world religions. It also conducts various fundraising events, as well as Thanksgiving activities.
