Overpriced, not competent, and a con-man: I brought in 2 vehicles. The first had a new rack and pinion installed at the cost of $880. I called 2 other shops nearby; both quoted me just under $700. The second car I brought in was a Subaru. I wanted it looked over so I could determine if I wanted to buy it from a private individual. Steve took it for a test drive then looked it over in his garage. I told him I was going to make an offer on the car but needed an objective assessment from him. He then told me it was in "very good" condition; A few of the instrument panel lights were on. He stated he could fix that for $150. Based on this, I made an offer on the car and bought it. I took it back to Steve to fix for $150. He had the car for a week, then tells me it needed a new head gasket that would cost $1,400. In addition, an oil selenoid, a new rotor and brake pad would be needed (I didn't ask how much those were going to cost.) I was in shock and asked him how he didn't see these things previously. His reply was, "I must have overlooked them." I got my car out of there. He still charged me $75 for "diagnosing", which is a crock because he didn't fix a thing. I then took the Subaru to another shop. The mechanic there told me "Steve" either did not know what he was doing or was trying to take advantage of me. Turns out the head gasket did NOT need to be replaced; neither did the oil selenoid. So right off the bat, he saved me from getting screwed out of more than $1,400. He fixed the instrument panel lights, and replaced the rotor and brake pad. My total bill was $325. In conclusion, Steve's Automotive, by far, has been the worst experience I have had with a mechanic in 35 years.

I took my car there mid Dec 2015, today is April 2016 and I barely took my car home. About 4 months and 1,600 dollars later, my car is almost in the same shape from when I left it there. I called the place 11 times throughout this whole process only to be told "Let me talk to Steve and we will call right back". Out of those 11 times I received a call back ONCE, before I had to call back again. One of the main concerns and disappointments I had was the fact that they would not advise me of the work they would do beforehand. They replaced a censor, cleaned the engine and then they told me how much it would be, then they replaced the battery and then they told me how much it was going to be. I will not recommend this place to anyone due to their lack of customer service, their lack of efficiency with time when fixing a car, and their mentality of "let me do things to the car before I even consult prices."

I have used Steve Forson for 13+ years and had to take something back one time for a stubborn light that did not want to re-set. He watches his workers carefully and does not keep sloppy mechanics. Plus, his daughter can work in the bays or manage the front end of the office equally well.

Talk about fair and honest! I would recommend these guys to anyone. I have used Steve to repair my vehicles for over 15 years. I have never had a complaint on anything he has ever done.

I've taken one of my vehicles to Steve's for two different problems. Each time Steve's has done excellent work in a very timely manner!! I definitely recommend them!

Have used these guys and recommended them for many times. They are fair and honest with the work they provide. They are the only local automotive repair shop I use.
