General Info

In the 1800’s a Hotel was Built, in the Hickman Valley, on this location, to accommodate the hard-working men of the Mines & Rails, that ran through the Valley. A General Store was later added on to provide supplies to the families that settled in the Valley. The Hotel & Store provided many services to the community. One of which was the “Soiled Doves” who would stand on the Balcony and “show their wears”, as the men arrived to pick up supplies and Tip One Back at the end of a long hard day. (You could have called it their one stop shop). In the late 1700s this area was a major player in The Great Whisky Rebellion. When the Federal Government imposed a tax on the sale & trade of all alcohol. Over the Years this location has treated the hard-working people of this area as a welcome guest with Food, Fun & Spirits as Rooster’s Roadhouse still does today. (Minus the Soiled Doves). In the 1800’s a Hotel was Built, in the Hickman Valley, on this location, to accommodate the hard-working men of the Mines & Rails, that ran through the Valley.
