On our vacation on the Big Island we were told by the locals this was the place to go for fish and chips. We were not disappointed. The Ono was awesome. My daughter and son-in-law have traveled all over the world eating their way through countries. They said the fish was the best!!

This is the best place for fresh fish and chips, period. We have eaten there about once a month a month for years now, and have never been disappointed. The staff is friendly and kind, the portions are generous, the fish is fresh, and you often get a choice of fresh fish. My favorite is always the Ono. I order the three piece meal, it comes with those big waffle type chips, cole slaw, and three big pieces of fish. I can never finish it all, so have some for lunch the next day. They close at 7 pm, so be sure and call your order in, then run out and pick it up. So ono!

Aloha, Best Fish and Chips I have ever had. I couldn't finish a three piece meal myself. I have eaten there several times and each time the fish was different pending what is running, the Mahi Mahi was excellent. You just can find fresher fish anywhere for my favorite sushi or seared Ahi Mummmmm. This place also has all types of fishing and camping gear; poles, hooks, lures, bait, fishing reels, flash lights. You can even buy whole fish to cook it your own way. All around great place with knowledgable friendly people to help you. This place gets five stars from me, Aloha

Terrible. We drove all the way out from Hilo. The fish has been good last year and it is the only fish and chips place around. This time it looked like we got warmed up fish left over from the week before. The pieces of fish were very small, dried up and very dark. It may just have been the employee cutting corners who worked there on a Sunday, but we will not chance it again. They lost our business and any future recommendations.
