My children has been with the Center for a few years. The staff, teachers are very professional. The teachers does a wonderful job in teaching, discipling and everything above positive. They go on daily walks (depending on the weather) around the city such as the park or Reading Terminal. The older kids take mini trips and most of which are educational! I highly recommend anyone seeking a very professional and safe environment to choose Children's Village.

This place is an amazing place for a child to grow. I had a privilege to go there. I left in 2007 but it was an amazing experience. There is so much diversity and the staff are just heavenly

The teachers at Children's Village are incredible! For many of the staff members, such as Norma, Lenora, Laura, Carl, Theresa and Felicia... you cannot say enough about them! It's a shame that the director of the center is more concerned with her own reputation than addressing concerns or issues teachers may have.

As a former employee of Children's Village and have been employed at other centers and now instructing at ECE teachers, I would say without a doubt that CV is one of the best Child Care Centers in the tri state area. The teachers are professional and have a true desire to teach and nurture the children. They also work towards learning as much as they can about their field. The children are never lacking in educational tools. The administrators are always looking for the ways to improve the facility and are very active in the child care community. A great place to work and send kids.

Simply the best day care in center city. Professional educators, not just babysitters. I would send my kids to high school with these folks if the scholl went past pre-school!

I have two children going to Children's Village. They are happy there and progressing well. The literacy based Pre-K program is fantastic! My child loves bringing home writing and drawing, and is so excited being able to recognize letters and words. In the toddler class, the kids get outside play almost daily! They serve a hot meal for lunch, and health snack in the morning and afternoon. The staff are warm, friendly, super organized! It's a great place to send your child!

Children's village provides a fun flexible environment for child and parent. Children's Village somehow manages to supply a well oiled machine,( administrative staff, kitchen and book keeping), with loving child care and a wonderful learning environment. My son is in his last year at CV and he will be better prepared than most children to enter kindergarten. They have a great academic program that is just right to get kids interested in words, sentences, punctuation and reading. The kids still have plenty of time for free play, arts and crafts, dress up and games. They go out to Franklin Square and the Reading Terminal Market. The teachers also have an "Open Door" policy. Parents are always welcome in the classroom. GREAT PLACE, I highly recommend it!

Our 4 year old son has been at CV since he was 18 months old and we could not ask for a better situation. The quality staff is stable, well-trained and genuinely nurturing. Our son's teachers in the infant/toddler class as well as the preschool class now, have all been at CV for over 15 years, the love and care they exhibit for my son is both evident in their demeanor and in his.....our whole family has felt well-cared for and supported by the teachers, staff and administration.I appreciate the range of unique cityscape adventures my child has experienced including special apple-buying trips to Reading Terminal during Autumn(thoughtfully scheduled during the less-hectic time of the morning..)--visits to the SEPTA museum and pretzel-buying days during the summer. We wanted a school that would reflect the rich diversity of our city and certainly this one does, my son uses phrases in Spanish, Mandarin and Cantonese. Outstanding in every way--don't miss this gem!

I absolutely love Children's Village and am only sorry that my son will not be able to stay there next year (we're from out of town, only living in Philly for a year). The teachers are loving, the atmosphere is warm, the typical toddler/preschool chaos is pleasantly lively but never out of control. There are lots of teachers (including subs and assistants), but they all know my son's name, and my son knows (and loves) them. My son knows all of his classmates by name, and he talks about them often. Discipline problems with one boy in the class have been handled with compassion and firmness, and the teachers are careful to keep us apprised of the situation (I was informed when my son witnessed an act of aggression--with no names mentioned--so that I could be aware if he seemed upset about it outside of school). The ethnic and cultural diversity is delightful--I feel like my son is learning about the complexities of the real world in a safe and nurturing space.

Does not standout much from your typical inner city daycare.Reputation & credentials seem above average, as an assistant teacher, I can assure you there isn't much to be desired beyond licensing and accrediations. CV is located in downtown Philadelphia. High turnover rates of assistant substitute teachers, they function more as a business and less as a nonprofit organization that serves parents and the surrounding community. Classrooms are big and there are usually about 2-3 assistant teachers watching groups of up to 23 kids. Two head teachers for each class; most of them are usually out of the classroom dealing w/ adminstrative issues or attending training classes. Directors &supervisors are insistent upon the constant refreshing of credentials & training for teachers in order to maintain the CV reputation.Great for busy parents who need drop off service or want piece of mind that little ones are being fed and watched. Not so good w/quality care and individualized attentiveness.
