      Founded in 1837, Pittsburgh Miller PreK-8 is an African-centered educational institution that serves more than 250 students in pre-kindergarten through grade eight. The school s academic curriculum includes instruction in English, language arts, history and science. It also provides classes in instrumental music, dance, drama and art. Pittsburgh Miller PreK-8 operates academic, chess, book and language clubs. The school maintains a student government and a choir group. It additionally offers yearbooks. Pittsburgh Miller PreK-8 s athletic activities include basketball and soccer. The school provides mentoring, after-school and extended-day enrichment programs. It is governed by Pittsburgh Public Schools, which maintains elementary, middle and high schools.
