The seafood is certainly fresh and veggies and wine close by to go with but the ads in the papers for seafood/fish specials are seldom helpful, given that no dates are listed for the length of the sale prices. Even a day or two later and prices are no longer the sale amounts. PLEASE state what days the special rates apply in your ads!

This place is GREAT! You will not find fish at a cheaper price. Last summer we bought about 40 lbs. of Haddock (at $3.99 a pound!) to take home and put in our freezer in Ohio. I am a very experienced seafood buyer and I've never found fish at a cheaper price. Both times I have been there, locals came in to purchase. Bingo! Quality was excellent as well. I'm planning a return trip, so I phoned on 09/02/09 and Haddock was still $3.99. Can't wait!

I bought lobsters 2X there while visiting Portland. First visit, I bought lobsters that were small size (not the size they charged). At second visit, I bought lobsters to take back to Bos. I paid for the next larger size (at higher cost per lb.) Again, the lobsters weren't even close to the price per lb I paid for. I bought 8 and only 4 were big and the other 4 were smaller than the size/price range I paid for. My family & I ate lobsters often and know the difference. Although I am not local but do travel to Maine often. So never again, the pricing of sizes was not an honest one. I think I will go back to my usual pound in York, ME even if I am in Portland soon. Was ideally impressed with "free range" seafood but ended up disappointed.

The best price on the waterfront for fresh haddock. I own the Corner House Cafe in Sebago Lake Village. We've been buying our seafood from Free Range and they are the best. Bon appetite!
