My husband and I have eaten here several times, and have always gotten great service and great sushi! Really don't understand one of the other reviews stating "they had to seat themselves, had bad service, etc.". Totally the opposite for all of our visits! We usually order sushi or sashimi, but the beef, salmon and chicken tariyaki are also delicious! The atmosphere is pleasant - nice decor and usually very quiet and relaxing. One of the owners (Kim) has usually been there when we've eaten there, and always welcomes us, seats us, and makes sure we have everything we need. Even when she's not there the staff (our last waitress was Alex - a girl - who was very friendly and helpful) takes good care of us. I would recommend Blue Fin Sushi Bar to anyone - all pros/no cons!

Have eaten here twice and gotten the same result each time: awesome food, crazy, disorganized service. Prepare to be frustrated, confused, hungry, etc. Both times we visited we had to seat ourselves, ask other patrons to borrow their menus, ask the sushi chefs for chopsticks and wasabi dishes, and both times we ordered drinks that never appeared and yet still made it on to the bill. And forget it if you actually want to pay the bill, she never even brought it either time (no kidding), luckily we had cash so we made our best guess at the total, and walked away. I have never seen anything like it.

Bluefin Sushi Bar and Fine Japanese Restaurant recently opened on the corner of NE 42nd and Broadway, where Urlings Sandwich Shop used to be. While similar in name to Blue Fin Sushi, they are not run by the same people and are nothing alike, other than they both serve sushi.



Pleasant atmosphere, friendly and accomodating service, fresh sushi and reasonable prices made for an enjoyable evening and another restaurant to add to my sushi rotation.



Most dinners are around $10, with the large sushi dinner (9 pieces of sushi, a rainbow roll, delicious miso soup, and salad with a wonderful light dressing) the highest item at $21.95. There are also a few "sushi boat" items that look like they would be fun to share.



My husband would have liked to see more non-sushi items.. specifically beef items, but the beef teriyaki they have and the salmon are quite good.
