Schmitt Industries designs and manufactures precision manufacturing process measurement and control systems. The Schmitt balancer systems division is a leader in the design and manufacture of balancing devices for rotating equipment, especially production grinding machines. The division s products are distributed and serviced in the American and Far Eastern markets. The Schmitt measurement systems division focuses on design and production of micro measurement products based on proprietary laser technologies. Its products include measurement equipment for determining surface roughness with Angstrom precision. The division provides products to the computer disk drive and micro electronic wafer markets and related markets. It also produces the Acuity line of laser measurement sensors and scanners. Acuity laser measuring sensors and rangefinders are used in automated measurement applications throughout industry, government and academia. Schmitt Europe has offices in Coventry, England and Pfungstadt, Germany. It markets and services balancing machines in the European, African and Asian markets.
