General Info
Time spent educating the patient about their diagnosis and treatment choices will lead to trust. As a physician who treats both the simplest foot problems as well as the most complex lower extremity diseases such as bone infections, severe deformities and chronic wounds - trust is the most important part of my practice. I am a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon. I’ve been in practice for 25 years. I graduated from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, completed a foot surgery residency at the Delaware Valley Medical Center in Langhorne, Pennsylvania; a year-long fellowship in limb salvage under Dr. Stanley Kalish in Atlanta, Georgia; and a shorter traveling fellowship in external fixation in Lisbon, Portugal at the Hospital Garcia de Orta. I treat all foot and ankle disorders and I specialize in complex deformity corrections such as Charcot neuroarthropathy as well as complicated wounds and bone infections. I’m confident in treating these problems as I’ve handled such a large volume of them over the years. I have dedicated my professional life to the preservation of the lower extremity and prevention of amputations. Teaching an important part of my practice which is one of the reasons I chose to be part of St. Luke’s University Health Network. I’m proud to be the Assistant Residency Director for our podiatric residency and as such it’s my job to teach the next generation of foot and ankle surgeons both surgery as well as how to incorporate scientific curiosity into practice so patients can access the most cutting-edge treatments. I’m an investigator in dozens of highly regarded clinical research trials. I’ve published many papers in peer-reviewed journals. I’ve been asked to speak at scientific conferences all over the world, and I’ve hosted surgeons from abroad to teach them how I’ve developed techniques to save extremities. Outside of work, I spend a lot of time supporting my two children as competitive runners in college and high school respectively. I also run myself (a little slower than the kids) to stay in shape and compete in summer biathlons. I really enjoy hiking and camping on the Appalachian Trail with my brother and brother-in-law as well as traveling with my incredible wife.
