He only does the major parts of the job and will skip over smaller details, even when he writes it in the contract! And when you confront him about it, he lies, tries to twist the truth, and worst of all he loses his temper!



When he first came out to give us an estimate, part of his written estimate included replacing "all broken tiles" on the roof. He and his work crew came back another day to do the work. As he was cleaning up, I asked him if he had finished the repairs (lifting a sagging facia board and painting it). He said yes and that he had gone "above and beyond" by replacing 3 broken tiles. When I asked him if he replaced all the broken tiles he started yelling and said that was not part of the contract and slammed a piece of tile into the trash can. As I told him that he DID say he would repair the broken tiles, he continued to yell and said he never said that (so much for the customer is always right). I then went on to prove him wrong and showed him the estimate and contract. When he saw the contract, he tried to say that what he meant was only the tiles that he and his men broke (something I would have imagined they would do regardless). This was clearly not what he had said with the initial estimate as he originally pointed to a visibly broken tile and said we will fix all our broken tiles like that one (the tile he pointed to was never fixed). While I normally fight for what is clearly right, his temper was getting out of control and was causing my family to be uneasy so I paid him and let him leave without finishing the job.
