Horrible place to put your love ones in!! Just because it says 5 star doesn't mean it is. I would say it's a 1 star facility. Food is awful and always short staffed. Look elsewhere

By the Mather Nature and my profession as the research scientist I am not even buying a tooth brush without deep search of all my possibilities. Now you can imagine how much I searched for right place to put my 86 years old mom for rehab after hip replacement. Finally I choose the Westport and didnt regret about it for any moment. I could not have asked for a better experience in a rehab-except not to have one at all! The staff was all very professional, caring and concerned. They responded quickly to requests made and in some cases seemed to go beyond the requirements needed to tend to a patient. The rehab team is so warm and professional and makes the whole experience that much better. During the therapy they created so light, positive atmosphere that was very helpful to some straggling and depressed patients. To give this team five stars probably not enough. I can say same thing about the management officers. They are more then professional. You are really feeling that this people doing everything to keep patients comfortable and less stressful. As result this rehabilitation center is becoming your home for several weeks.

My grandmother was here for about 3 years. It's a pretty facility, but the nurses and RNs are terrible. There were a few good nurse and RNs, but overall most of them don't care about these patients. We had quite a few loved ones who visited and took turns being there. While we were there, of course they treated her well. But when we weren't, who knows what goes on. We would find her in an awkward position on her bed, awkward position in her wheel chair, etc. We had one incident when she was bruised and fell out of her wheelchair twice. That's two times too much. The very first time was suspicious. Staff claimed that she fell out of her wheelchair. But no one came forward in placing her back in her wheelchair. So if she fell, who picked her up? Bruises were real bad. To this day, only God knows and whoever was involved knows. I try not to think too much about this incident and what happened, who did what, etc. I pray that God will handle everything...

This facility/BUSINESS protrays a very attractive website but in actuallity it is different. Now that I have been client their and have been a survivor ...Rehab services are wonderful, nurses did the best they good, CNA's are terrible...as does the administrator and her assistant administrator these two women should rot in (fill in the blank) and that would be too good a place for them. Food services were a hit and a miss(mostly a miss). Strongly suggest look seriously at other facilities before coming into this pit from you fill in the blank. I would rather die befor darkening those doors again.

The only good thing about this place is the rehab. The nursing care is sad because, it has limited staff so the patients needs are unmet. The meals are horrible-how can you feed elderly patients cold hot dogs and a sandwich for dinner. Where is the nutrition in that. The doctor doesn't communicate with family members which means unable to find out the progress of care. No documentation of medicines or notes about care. This place has no computers so anything can be written down or just lost.

Excellence

My grandmother was a resident of the facility on two occasions, and I could have picked a better place for her care. The admissions department and social worker made my grandmothers transition from the hospital to the center very smooth. She was there for 2 months and I was amazed at how clean and well furnished the room and was, and how helpful the nurses and aides were. The therapy team was excellent and were able to help my grandmother to get back on her feet. My grandmother also loved the food and all of the activities she could participate in daily. I highly recommend Westport and am very grateful for the loving care my grandmother received!

Clean facility, good rehab, terrible food and spotty nurse support

My mother has been here for 8 days and they have yet to get her meal plan correct. She was left naked in the toilet for over one hour. Her PT and OT support have been excellent. There are not enough nurses or Aids for the number of patients on the ward. The room is clean, but hot and stuffy. She does not have all of her wheelchair parts, and must borrow from her roommate when she goes to therapy. After many requests, I took her to the beauty parlor to have her hair washed and set. Many days, she does not get a meal until she calls the nurse station, and then it is always wrong.
