General Info
A native of nearby Silver Spring, Maryland, Victoria Lilling, MD, is excited to offer her surgical skills to the men and women of Rockville, Maryland, at Capitol Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation. Even in her days as a star student and athlete at Springbrook High School, Dr. Lilling’s passion for helping others and her flair for academics quickly showed she was destined for a career as a doctor. Dr. Lilling’s academic achievements continued at the University of Maryland in College Park, where she earned Bachelor of Science degrees in both physiology and neurobiology, was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa National honor society and the Omicron Delta Kappa leadership honors society, and won a research scholarship from the prestigious Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Dr. Lilling completed her medical studies at the State University of New York–Buffalo School of Medicine, where she was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society and again graduated magna cum laude, this time second in her class. Dr. Lilling developed her interest in treating vascular and nervous injuries to the shoulder, elbow, hand, and wrist during an internship and residency at the Orthopaedic Surgery Center at State University of New York–Stony Brook University Hospital. Treating patients in the busiest level one trauma center on Long Island exposed her to patients dealing with severe and traumatic injuries and prepared her for the full range of emergencies a doctor can face. Dr. Lilling continued her education with a fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at Johns Hopkins University Hospital, giving her full command over a vast array of surgical and nonsurgical treatments. Finally, Dr. Lilling furthered her surgical skills with a short fellowship in France, under world-renowned surgeon Dr. Laurent Lafosse.
