When the trigger on my old H&R22 pistol wouldn't release I took it to this shop. It was a Tuesday afternoon and the gal behind the counter who buzzed me in the shop was very friendly and honest. She knew it was an old H&R and told me there was an 8out of 10 chance it might not be worth repairing but they would check it out. Honestly 2 days later I got a call that it was repaired and I could pick it up. The man who repaired it explained to me what the problem had been. You bet I'd recommend this shop. Honest,no bs,and I wasn't gouged on the repair cost.

Fixed my Dan Wesson

My 22 Dan Wesson had a terrible issue with stuck cases, even when clean. F&D cleaned up the chambers and it's been flawless.

This is the worst business I have ever dealt with. service was horrible as noted. I initially called them and asked about working on my savage 308. they told me a 2 week turn around. lol !!!!!! after 2 weeks I called them numerous time and they told me it was in back to be worked on. they were behind and had another gunsmith coming in and they would call me Monday since their not open Friday, sat,and sun. no wonder there behind. well Monday comes no call. so I call them on Tuesday no answer, leave a message , no return call. call weds leave message and email no return call no email. call Thursday no answer and leave message. they close at 5pm so I call back at 3pm busy signal, call back at 330 busy, call back at 4pm guess what, busy signal. call back a few more times up till 5pm , yes still busy. so at this point I have to call Monday cause there closed Friday, sat and sun. call Monday no answer. leave a message and no return call. cant get ahold of them ALL week. so Monday starting the 5th week I finally get someone to answer the phone. gal tells me I think they worked on it over the weekend but the guy that worked on it isn't here today. hmmm closed fri, sat, sun and not at work on Monday. guess they are behind. lol. she tells me she will call him and call me back to let me know what he found on my rifle. 1 hour goes by, 2 hours go by, so I call lol. guess what. you got it NO ANSWER. AFTER 3 HOURS STILL NO ANSWER AND NO RETURN CALL. SO I GO UP TO THE GUN SHOP. I ASK THE GAL WHATS GOING ON. no one has touched the gun. I told her you told me you were going to call me 2 weeks ago and I never heard a thing. now you tell me they worked on it this past weekend and you were going to find out what was found on the gun and 3 hour went by I never heard from you. next thing I know I hear the gunsmith from the back room telling her if I don't like it give it back to me. hes too busy and cant keep up and don't care if he works on my gun or not. I said, what you have to be kidding me. he came out and was very rude to me yelling at me and told me he didn't want my business. I called him a S.O.B AND LEFT. OVER 4 WEEKS AND DIDNT TOUCH MY RIFLE. IF THERE WAS A ZERO STAR FOR THIS REVIEW IT WOULD BE TOO MUCH. MAYBE IF THEY WORKED MORE THEY WOULDNT BE BEHIND. IT WOULDNT HAVE BOTHERED ME THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN HONEST FROM THE START. AND A LITTLE COMMUNICATION CAN GO A LONG WAYS. IF YOU BRING YOUR FIREARM TO F AND D GUNSMITH YOU WILL BE SORRY. WHAT A WASTE. CANT BELIEVE THEY EVEN HAVE A BUSINESS !!!!!

I never write reviews but I will for this place. HORRIBLE service. They do not answer the phone. They have a recording on their answering machine saying they are out of the office so they don't have to be bothered. This is bad business. I am a FFL and needed their FFL paperwork to transfer a gun for a customer that chose them for the transfer. This makes things hard because the customer gets anxious on why their item can not be sent in a timely manner. The proper paperwork has to be done first, and they are not doing their part by answering the phone, fax and email by sending it. I would NOT do business with this company, (or backyard business). They are BAD NEWS and will do nothing but waste your time and money!!

I took a Remington 597 rifle to F&D Gunsmithing to have the extractor replaced (a common part and a simple repair). They took a $20 deposit. They kept the rifle for more than two months. After the first month, I called weekly to ask about the status of the repair. They told me each week that they could not get the part (extractor). One week they said they would call the supplier immediately after our phone call. After more than nine weeks, they said they could not get the part and I could pick up my gun, unrepaired. I checked online and found Remington 597 extractors readily available and in stock at numerous vendors. I ordered one from Midway USA for $4.99 and I am told it will be delivered within 5 business days. F&D would not refund my deposit, citing the time spent calling vendors, searching for a source for the part. I said they had done nothing, the part was easily available, and I named some suppliers with the part in stock (They advertise Brownells on their invoices; Brownells has the part in stock.). They then cited their "no refund" policy and kept my money.
