If your Primary Care Provider will fax the referral, please call our office at 314-842-2100 prior to your appointment to confirm that the referral has been received. Some offices require that you pick up the original referral, please check with your provider regarding their policy. Failure to obtain a referral may result in your appointment being rescheduled.
- Emergency CareDr. Daniel L. Kitchens was born in Macon, Georgia and raised in central Texas. He earned his medical degree in 1989 from the University of Texas Medical Branch. Dr. Daniel Kitchens went on to his internship in general surgery at Barnes Hospital/Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Kitchens performed his residency in neurosurgery there and completed his term as a chief resident in 1996. He has also served as an emergency room physician in St. Louis and nearby communities.

- MRIAny FILMS such as X-Ray, MRI, Myelogram, CT scans, discograms, etc. The reports can be faxed to our office at 314-843-0164. Films cannot be faxed and must be available at the time of your appointment. If the films are not available for Dr. Kitchens to review at the time of your appointment, the appointment will need to be rescheduled. CDs are acceptable. If you have been told that the films will be sent to our office, please call our office at 314-842-2100 prior to your appointment to make sure we have received your films.

- Computed TomographyA variety of tests performed during physical examination may help reveal the SI joint as the cause of your symptoms. Sometimes, X-rays, CT-scan or MRI may be helpful in the diagnosis of SI joint-related problems.
- General Surgery
- Pinched NerveLumbar microdiscectomy (without fusion) is a very common procedure for relief of a pinched nerve from a herniated disc. This is an outpatient procedure with about a one-inch incision and short recovery period.
- Minimally Invasive SurgeryOnce the SI joint is confirmed as the cause of your symptoms, treatment can begin. Some patients respond to physical therapy, use of oral medications, or injection therapy. These treatments are often performed repetitively, and frequently symptom improvement using these therapies is temporary. At this point, you and your surgeon may consider other options, including minimally invasive surgery.
