- Swedish MassageHot stone massage therapy is used to relax and ease tense muscles. A hot stone massage involves the therapist placing flat, heated stones on tense areas to promote relaxation. Your therapist will hold the heated stones and employ Swedish massage techniques such as long strokes, vibration, tapping, kneading, or circular movements. The application of heat to the body along with traditional massage techniques provides increased relief from muscle tension and pain while increasing blood flow to the area.
