.....ironic because "Heart" denotes caring, which I have discovered is an oxymoron for this Clinic.

I was referred to Dr. Kevin Thompson from my primary care physician for a recent on-set of A-Fib. The A-fib was discovered in my "Welcome to Medicare" EKG - I was in Tachycardia, which is a very concerning condition for a 65+ female.

From the start there were red flags with the disorganized manner of referral and intake of a new patient. My PCP's assistant had to actually hand-deliver my referral after many phone calls back and forth from their office, as well as with me.

I was not impressed by Dr. Thompson manner, but if I am receiving good standard of care - personality shouldn't come into it.

I had to cancel my first scheduled appointment for Dr. Thompson's prescribed Echo-cardiogram due to the inability of the billing department at Oregon Heart Center to provide cost of the procedure. (I am responsible for 20%, as per Medicare regulations - important to know how much I will be writing the check for).

Finally, I was able to get that answer and rescheduled for March 16. I showed up on time, had the procedure, and assumed I would have a result within a week - after all, this is a condition that can be rather grave.

Well, I was very wrong. We are now 19 days into it - 4 visits to their office and 5 phone calls - excuses, excuses....he went on vacation, he couldn't be found in the office....and no call back from a Clinic Manager (who was on maternity leave....and her back-up still hasn't called. I was told that as of March 29, Dr. Thompson STILL had not reviewed my Echo???? Really??? I cancelled my Follow-up Appointment which was scheduled for ONE MONTH AFTER my procedure! Beware, heart patients! Also - one of the comments from his staff was "Well, no news is good news"....Wow! I have notified my insurance company and my doctor of this uncaring and, in my opinion, the lowest standard of medical care ever.
