Several weeks ago I was very ill and needed to take the ambulance to HRRMC (A FANTASTIC hospital in Salida, CO.) About 1:30am, the Attending decided I was stable enough to go home. My husband went to borrow the neighbors car but wouldn't you know, it wouldn't start. I was feeling better, but not good enough to sit in the waiting room til someone could be found to take me home. The nurse made a phone call and in 20 min., Karen from Neighbor to neighbor had gotten out of her warm bed (it was -5 that night) and made the trip in the middle of the night just to bring me back to my warm bed. Now you try finding that kind of community caring in NYC or Chicago...This is the BEST town in the USA with the best people!
