This place is over crowding donors in line 40 people deep in the back donation area to hide them from the lobby area. You walk in thinking you will have a short wait, then they call your name and you go to the back into a pre-test line for 1/2 hr. After that you go to the next line to wait for a donor bed. I've seen that take an hour and a half. While I was standing in line I saw other people in beds waiting for 1/2 hr to get hooked up. I took pictures to prove it and file a claim with the board of health. 30 people sneezing, coughing, and spreading germs around my open vein just doesn't seem sterile or professional! Also, some of the people sticking your veins are obnoxious punks like Michael who likes to scream like he is a hip hop DJ. Others just are slow as heck and don't care how long you sat there, they will finish their conversation with a co-worker first! The management is either clueless or don't care!

Avoid this place! They have tried to change the seating in the waiting area to hide the people waiting for over an hour and a half to get hooked up. Now you log in on a temper-mental computer, take the questionnaire and wait 20 minutes in the lobby. Then they call out 8 or 10 names to stand in the hallway by the pretest area. That takes around 20 minutes to 1/2 hour (no sitting). From there they make you go stand in line in the donation area, again lining up for the first available donor bed. Then, you will lay there for up to an hour to get hooked up! I took pictures to file a complaint with the board of health for the health risk. When I was there, there was about 20 people in front, 25 at the first line in the pre screen area, and 28 waiting for a bed. Also, looking in one of the donation zones, there were 6 beds, one person hooked up, and the other 5 were waiting the whole time I was progressing through the line! And, with 50 people, some coughing, sneezing, and just dirty, I really don't think I want that on my open vein!

On top of that, the sound on the TV's was turned off because of the technicians watching instead of hooking people up, or unhooking them! Now, they play crap music (loud) and have obnoxious Tech's yelling "Dumb Crap" all day! Michael is real unprofessional and has no business there! It is typical of the poor management!

Unfit for Use

I have a Premier Membership and have used many facilities along the West Coast, but this one on Marbach Rd.in San Antonio is the poorest I have been to. The equipment is outdated and the wet-area is disgusting. The paint in the pool & whirlpool is peeling, the water is slimmy and heavly coated with chlorine. The steam room temperature is too hot and smells. None of the showers operated properly. I believe it should be reported to the Health Department for inspection. I went to that facility because the wet-are at the gym on Warzback Rd. was closed for repairs.

Buyer beware

Watch out for very high pressure and misleading sales tactics designed to get your signature on a 3 yr contract for thousands that you can't get out of, even if you're soldier deploying to Iraq. This company has a very, very bad reputation-do your homework online. I signed contract only because there was supposed to be a 60 day 'Promise" that allows you to get out of the contract, but now they won't honor it even though I read all the fine print and acted accordingly. The local Bally's can't do a thing. Your contract is shipped off to California and you have to deal with a huge bureaucracy that doesn't asnswer the phone, and calls your membership a "loan" with all the aggressive collections activities and ruining of credit that goes with it.
