Bay Package Productions was founded in 1992 in San Francisco. Before devoting its energies to film and video production, the company produced and managed successful theatrical productions in San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Bay Package has completed Smokestack Lightning: A Day in the Life of Barbecue, which will air on American Public Television in the Spring of 2004. The company is presently in production of In Nonna's Kitchen, inspired by the book of the same name by Carol Field. The 13-episode series is a co-production with KQED in San Francisco. A one hour documentary on the life and work of Bay Area painter Hung Liu entitled Hung Liu: A True American Artist is in development. Completed narrative projects include the 35mm short films Boys' Night Out and Brass Tacks. Additional documentary work includes Armstrong in Havana, presently in postproduction, promotional videos for corporate and not-for profit organizations and profiles of fine artists Viola Frey and William T. Wiley.David Bransten has over twenty years of professional experience in theatre, as well as an extensive background in the visual arts field. In 1992, Bransten founded Bay Package Productions. After producing theatre for over seven years, Bransten guided Bay Package into its present role as a producer/creator of new works for the screen as well as stage. He served as director on Smokestack Lightning and In Nonna's Kitchen. An avid underwater videographer, Bransten's work has appeared in promotional and corporate videos as well as feature films.Bay Package Productions UsScott Stohler is presently in his twelfth year of association with Bay Package Productions. Previous to relocating to the Bay Area, Stohler served as Program Associate at New Dramatists in New York City.He has worked as Executive Producer, Associate Producer and Line Producer on both narrative and documentary film projects.
