Good thing that I have found out about this place. I was looking for a good Chinese restaurant for quite some time now and we really loved the whole experience in here.

It is a testament of amazing cooking. This place is simple yet everything that we ordered were really great and tickled out curiosity about the other meals.

I have to admit that I enjoyed eating in here, there are a lot of good stuff to try and they have some of the best vegetable meals out there, perfect for vegans and not.

The noodles on this place are remarkable. I specially love the beef wanton because they are so hearty and cheap, perfect for cold times.

Delicious chicken rice soup

Me hotel was 'round the corner and I was wee bit hungry for a snack. The waitress suggested a bit of the chicken rice soup for me cold. Lovely, flavourful and hot -- some of the best Chinese Chicken Soup in me life. I know there are other dishes but that was the one that got me over me cold. Cheerio!

A SF Classic

House of Nanking is a pretty well known place that always has a line.

I seem to have a love hate relationship with the place. Sometimes I crave the food and others I think the menu is pretty homogeneous.

One of my favorites is the friend onion pancake appetiser.

The service is ok at times, bad at others.

We LOVE this restaurant. Been going there for years. Peter has been written up in the Times and Chronicle many times. If Peter and his family are still owners, try Onion pancakes w/ peanut butter sauce for appetizer, then Sizzling Shrimp Platter, Nan King Beef and whatever else he recommends. Note that we moved to AZ in 1995 so it has been a long time since we have been there.

DETAILS
General Info
House of Nanking is a staple Chinese restaurant in San Francisco. Our recipes transpire from traditional recipes that have been updated based on our own experiences. We like to recreate standard dishes and give it a twist. At House of Nanking, one of the popular things to order is in fact not to order yourself! We are fantastic at putting together a dish for you based on what you like. Our menu is constantly changing and dishes are rotated around. Some of our dishes, however, are favorites and have been around for quite some time. These special dishes include: Nanking sesame chicken, fried potstickers with peanut sauce, shrimp packets with peanut sauce, house noodles and fried calamari.
