Roomax is a small, local Bay Area company in business for 18 years building beautiful wood furniture using veneer over plywood and NOT using particle board, laminate or Melamine. One employee has been with us 5 years and the others have been with us since the beginning. We all love wood and take great pride in our standard pieces as well as in our custom designed pieces. We specialize in maximizing use of small spaces, but offer a wide range of furniture pieces for all uses. Our Gallery of Installations link on our home page will lead you to several albums, each containing many pictures (over 200 in all) of furniture we have built over the years. Roomax builds its own patented, counter-balanced wallbed that does not require bolting to the wall or to the floor. The Roomax wall bed is superior to the old Murphy bed. It is a free-standing piece of furniture using no springs, hydraulics, or pistons. When open the bed is at a normal bed height and the mattress does not need to be strapped. The wallbed comes with rounded corners to protect your legs, a headboard (layback or open bookcase) and lights with a 3-way dimmer. Roomax also builds chest beds offering drawers on one side or both sides of the bed and a trunk space in the middle, under the mattress. Again, our beds offer rounded corners for safety. We make our chestbeds in 3 heights: 12" to the bottom of the mattress, 18" and 24". This offers deeper drawers and hidden drawers in some models. Chest beds come without headboards, but we make several styles if you do want a headboard. Check out the Chest Beds Album at our Gallery of Installations. Roomax has built some awesome entertainment centers and display units. Together with our clients' input we have come up with unique designs that fit the needs perfectly. Because we build all of our furniture we are able to customize in ways other retailers cannot and we do it at an affordable price. We have many standard pieces (corner desks, straight desks, hutches, files, computer cabinets, etc) all of which can be modified to fit your space and satisfy your needs.
