I cannot express how much I regret taking my engagement to ProFix to be resized... while they did resize the ring, they carelessly cut through the engraving on the inside of the band and then sloppily soldered over a portion of it. There was no attempt to re-engrave what had been messed up, or even clean up the pool of solder left covering the letters.
I was so excited just to have it back and the right size that it didn’t notice what they had done until later. When I returned the next day to see if they could fix the engraving, both of the people working at the desk were stunned at the condition that the ring had been left in after the “repair.” They were extremely apologetic, and immediately offered to fix the engraving. I asked that the font be the same and wrote out exactly what it was supposed to say “J & S forever” (only the “J &” needed to be redone).
When I was told the ring was ready to be picked up, the guy on the phone said that the engraving was “pretty good.”
The only thing that they did was engrave a “J” and even in italics! They did not engrave “J &” and there was no attempt at all to clean up the sloppy soldering job on the band- they just slapped a J right on top...
I was told that I could have the entire thing redone, but I didn’t feel comfortable with that idea, particularly after I was told that I should have told them it was engraved!
I took my ring and left. I urge you not to entrust Pro Fix with your most valuable and sentimental possessions- they simply do not seem to care.
