Re: Jane Vadova review- I have many friends who have visited this shop and none have ever had a negative experience. Your experience was not even a shopping experience, but rather an expereince where you trespassed on the parking lot of a merchant using their lot for a free place for you to park while you conducted business elsewhere. They have signs posted everywhere that state parking is for customers only- which you were not. There are usually two sides to every story, and judging by the dramatics of your yelp and facebook rants it is reasonable to deduce that your behavior played a part in the interaction you had with the people who confronted you in the parking lot. Also, having met the owners of this shop on several instances I can easily say that they exude the antithesis of the menacing, intimidating thugs that you portray in your creatively written rants...Richard Simmons must terrify you!. PS- You are lucky they don't sue you for defamation as your public comments easily would merit such legal action. In addition, as an interior designer you can bet that word of mouth has spread through the antique community that you are persona non gratis ..... And nice job screwing up what little business you had that you operated out of coffee shops and other people's parking lots..... smile emoticon

I am extremely shaken from an incident that happened at American Pie Antiques. I am writing a review to ask people to boycott this business, if they value they way women are treated. Here is my story:I am a young woman in my 20's. I am an artist & interior designer. And a mother of a baby & a toddler. I am not the kind of person to have conflict with anyone, or to even write a bad review. I recently parked in the American Pie Antiques customer only parking lot. I had a meeting with a client at a nearby coffee shop, and I was planning to shop at the antique shop afterwards.. I even drove my husbands truck, with anticipation of purchasing some furniture or artwork.. After I parked, two large men, at least 6ft, maybe in there 50's or 60's, came out of the shop, rudely yelling at me to move the truck.. Not bothering to ask if I was a costumer. I made the mistake of muttering "jerk" as I got into the truck to move it. One of the men came up to the truck window, nose to the window, yelling at me.. "B*tch, wh*re, roll down your window, roll down your f*ckin window!" On & on.. I imediatly starting crying saying "stop, let me pull out, your bullying me." The second man was at my window now, mocking me for crying... But they were so close to the truck that I couldn't pull away without hitting them. I can only assume that these men own the shop since they so strongly defend their parking spaces.. I've never been bullied or yelled at like that by a grown man, and I am appalled that a man can even speak to a woman like that. If you value women, or if you are a woman, I urge you, do not shop here. These men are dangerous and unpredictable.I only gave one star because 0 was not an option. Beware.

A charming store, loaded with great things. Nice people to work with. This store is a real gem in Sarasota!
