The tempura is the best! Always satisfied, never disappointed! You have to try it, I know about real sushi and this is GOOD, the best in Sarasota!!!

A local favorite of mine

I wasn't too impressed with neither the kitchen food or the sushi (especially the tetaki which was very sour and hard to eat) but the table side cooking is probably the best in Sarasota, ask for Max when you go there, he's one of the owners and without a doubt the best teppan chef in Sarasota.

Not traditional, not american. Sushi is not prepared properly

I am a sushi afficiando and upon visiting Saga in Sarasota, I have to say this is probably one of the absolute worst sushi joints i've ever visited. Where to start...1) fish quality isn't that great, you can tell by the look and smell of certain items.2) The restaurant is a bit dingy in certain areas, makes you question cleanliness3) The sushi chefs, if you can call them that, have no idea on gods green earth what they are doing.4) All of the rolls are prepared in such a cheap manner, ie not using the appropriate japanese bases for things like their "mayo sauces", eel sauces, hot sauces, etc.5) The taste of the finished "sushi" is like that of nothing i've ever tasted. NOT in a good way either.I am open to new taste bud experiences but this was like cheap chinese buffet processed sushi, that stuff that sits out for a while..you know what i'm talking about.I wouldn't suggest saga. It's overpriced for the horrible quality, bad service, and they have bugs running around!
