Based in Saukville, Wis., the firm has its distribution and manufacturing facilities in Wisconsin and Ohio. The company is a member of the Charter manufacturing family of companies, which also includes Charter Wire and Charter Automotive. Charter Steel is a TS16949:2002 and ISO 9001:2000 certified firm. It conducts various tests for final inspection of products, such as tensile strength, reduction of area, Rockwell hardness, etc. A division of Charter Manufacturing, the firm s other capabilities include steel melting, bar/rod rolling, coil processing and wire drawing. Charter Steel s laboratories possess certification from the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) for many of the tests performed.
