      Located in Sebring, Fla., SBHC is a school board that studies, reviews and discusses specific issues related to Highlands County Schools. The school board is responsible for the control, operation, organization, management and administration of its elementary, middle, high and charter schools. It is a part of the state system of public education and includes all public schools, classes and courses of instruction, as well as the services and activities directly related to education in the Highlands County, Fla. The school board determines the policies necessary for the effective operation and general improvement of the school system. SBHC is a public corporate entity, which ensures that the schools policies meet the requirements prescribed by the laws and rules of the state s board of education.
