I'm a transplant who came to this area back in late 70's. I've seen allot of food joints come & go around here. So, It was great to see a couple of local kids come to town in '99,' and put together a "Sweet" little piazza shop geared for everyone who enjoys a great HAND ROLLED PIAZZA ."Hogback Piazza" at the bass of Hogback Mt. on Main St. in Newcastle, Co. is run by Di & Dustin Chapin who greet their customers with a friendly smile and a warm welcome. "Hogback" caters to a group of locals as varied as the toppings on their piazza's. My favorite piazza is their "Bypass" with four kinds of meats, they have fresh vegie piazza's as well as everything in between. They also throw in other scrumsous treats like calizones & oven warmed subs. Beside the soda & iced teas they have a nice selection of bottled an canned Beers. Oh My Gosh. Hogback pizza is one of my very favorite pizza places. THere pizza slices are big, but not tooo big, and the crust is crunchy on the outside but delicious and soft on the inside. The place is fairly clean. THe one thing i dont like is that they play pretty loud rock music, so if you are looking for a nice calm sit-down family dinner, this is probably not that place. BUt it does has tables and other things, so you can go and actually eat there. I would definitly recomend it, for somoe good food, and nice people. HOGBACKS!!!!!!!
