Dr. Urman has been wonderful but I am very disappointed in the staff- specifically the receptionists. I have had ringworm for 7 months and dermatitis break outs for a year. Anytime I call the office about one of my prescriptions the receptionists give me a hard time about refilling prescriptions that I NEED. Seeing a doctor about skin conditions can be very uncomfortable and embarrassing. The receptionists working in the office have only made those feelings worse. Every time I call with a question or concern they rush me off the phone and never give me a chance to speak or explain my situation (maybe if they didn’t rush me off the phone my requests wouldn’t confuse them)! The last receptionist called me rude and said I had an attitude, I apologized even though I didn’t do anything wrong. I proceeded to tell her kindly that I did not appreciate the way she was speaking to me and that I will not be returning to their office. She responded by saying “great thanks you can tell doctor urman yourself then” and proceeded to hang up on me. I’m so offended by the way I was treated. I would not recommend academic dermatology to anyone. It really is a bummer because dr.urman is great, but his staff is beyond rude and inappropriate.

I called Dr Urman on a Sunday morning hoping to be seen as soon as possible as I had a terrible case of poison ivy. After explaining the situation to his secretary she put me on hold and asked Dr Urman what to do. Even though he was fully booked, he told me to come in after hours and treated me. I couldn't believe he would do that on a Sunday when most doctors don't even work. Highly recommended. Rachel.

Dr. Urman was kind, professional, and efficient. It took me longer to fill out the forms than it did for Dr. Urman to diagnose and treat me! I highly reccommend him to anyone seeking a dermatologist!

Dr Urman did laser treatments for my psoriasis and the hard to treat spots which even Enbrel didn't clear, are gone after 12 treatments

My acne is completely clear. I am very happy with Dr.Urman. He was the only dermatologist to suggest Accutane, after I've suffered with acne for 12 years.
