These folks are liars & heartless , they promised my granddaughter to do alterations & made a weekend appointment for her fitting & when she arrived with her grandmother all excited they informed her they neglected to tell her that she was required to make the purchase from them . Don't you suppose that they could have given this young granddaughter of ours some clue? Shame on these heartless money grubbers ! We will be on a crusade to clue the public & tell anyone looking to avoid them ! Just another chain box store numb to the public ! NOTE: all the other bad reviews tells you something !

I don't understand what happened when other people went to this store, but I had a totally wonderful experience there. I didn't know what to expect after reading all the reviews--I was hopeful but skeptical. I went to the Spokane, WA store on January 12, 2013. I had only been engaged for 2 weeks and was hoping to plan a wedding in 6 months to marry this summer. So I knew I wanted to get a dress (an affordable dress) and quick. I had picked out about 20 "favorites" from the website, and my salesperson,Robyn, had my printout ready to go and waiting for me when I arrived. She listened to me about my very firm budget--not wanting to go over $500 total for eveything (dress, slip, bra, restoration package). She listened to me about styles and preferences. There were many dress options under $300 that were beautiful, classy, and of quality. Yes, maybe the store is not as fancy as a boutique or maybe you don't get as pampered. There is no champagne waiting for you. But you don't pay an arm and a leg either! Who needs to pay over a $1000 for a dress I will only wear once?? With the help of Robyn, and that of my 2 friends present, I picked out the perfect dress in 1.5 hrs, bought it, had it shipped, and was done!! I thought David's Bridal had an excellent selection, but mostly I was impressed with Robyn's service. She confessed she had only been working there 3 or 4 weeks, but she was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. Although the store was booming with weekend and sale event traffic, she easily focused on me and made my needs feel important. God bless this woman!! She made this ordeal seem easy--and I was totally overwhelmed when I arrived.

Loved it

I went I try on a specific wedding dress I walked in and they squeezed me into a afternoon slot with a consultant named Maddy. Her customer service was superb. The floor manager was very helpful and kept checking on us. When I asked about the bussel for the dress (on that is rarely sold) they had to get alterations to check it out and she was very helpful. I don't know if it was because I picked a dress that is so gorgeous everyone looks at it, (it isn't for a white wedding), but nobody buys it, or it just doesn't look right on them. I was told it's a hard dress to pull off. (not a mermaid). But I showed a pic of what I want my bride's maids to look like she found me similar ones and helped my girls. However I did let them know I was shipping and my wedding was far enough out I needed to fall in love and I was already in love with another dress so they had to top it.

awful company! Beware of sizing scam

I made an appointment to try on wedding gowns, only to get there and have to wait 25 minutes past my appointment time. I felt like no one really cared about me since I hadn't spent any money in the store. When they finally got around to helping me the first thing the sellers gal did was ask what size I was. NO MEASUREMENTS taken. I told her I was a between a 10 and a 12 and she said "since weddding dresses are sized differently then jeans you need to go up TWO sizes!" Two sizes seemed like an awful lot, not to mention killed my self esteem, but I agreed to try on size16 dresses. Then from across the store she yells "DID YOU NEED A SIZE 16 OR 18?" Are you kidding me? How could she forget the size in a matter of 30 seconds? Plus, how embarassing to have them yell your size across a busy store.

After I ended up finding my dress and paying for it, I was basically pushed aside and forced out of the store. I can back several weeks later for alterations and about died when they told me the price. My alterations ended up costing over 500 dollars!!! They took my size 16 dress down to a size 8! Clearly, that is how they make their money! Tell everyone to go up two sizes so they have to pay an arm and a leg to have it fit. what a joke! Buyer BEWARE

Definitely Make an Appt. and Know What You Want

There was a lot of selection, but not a lot that I liked. The $99 dress rack had about 10 dresses on it. A lot of what I saw didn't impress me (I hate to be mean, but some of the stuff looked really cheap).

Definitely make an appointment ahead of time. I was told that I would not be able to try anything on unless I had a previously booked appointment. (If you can make it on a week day/night -- even better!)

Definitely don't go dress shopping hungry or tired because this place can get overwhelming and some of the staff can be a little overwhelming.

I ended up just going on a Tuesday night after work (in the middle of winter) with a girlfriend and stayed to the side of the store (out of the way). Tried on about a dozen dresses and a couple of veils and then left to think about it -- ended up not purchasing from David's Bridal.

Wonderful Experience

I worked with Dina and she's really good. I honestly wasn't expecting much but ended up being very impressed. Even though they were crazy busy, she took the time with us that we needed to find the perfect dress for me and my bridesmaids while staying within my budget. She was knowledgeable about what she had in stock and what she was able to order in. She was really good about making suggestions for things I would need without being high pressure. It really was a wonderful experience.

A Waste of Time

I contacted this shop 4 times and could never get a call-back for an appointment. Finally I just dropped by when up there for something else; it was 5pm (they close at 9) on a Tuesday and there was only one other customer in the store. Though there were at least 6 workers milling around chatting with one another, I couldn't get any help. I asked if I could try a few dresses on but was told I had to make and appointment to do so. Even though they weren't doing anything, were open for another 4 hours, and I had travelled 2 hours to see them they 'couldn't manage' to get me in. The prices are great, but if you actually want to try anything on, or even get treated like a human, don't waste your time. I had $500 cash in-hand and couldn't get more than a catalog.

Bridal NIGHTMARE!

This year, it is my best friend’s turn to walk down the aisle and as she is shopping on a budget, we decided to try David’s Bridal – BIG MISTAKE. Teresa (the saleswoman) seemed outright mad when I and the other bridesmaids voiced our opinion or made our own dress selections in an attempt to find more garments that were the bride’s taste. Teresa demanded, “Where did these dresses come from? I didn’t select these!” And chastised us for selecting dresses that she didn’t approve of first. First problem.

She proceeds to tell my friend (as she is trying on only her second dress) that “You need to decide a style now or we are just wasting our time because we will be here all night. You need to tell me “yes” or “no” so that I can put this back on the rack.” Are you serious?!!! To avoid further confrontation, my friend made some quick dress decisions that she wasn’t even sure about just to get Teresa to stop hounding her. Second Problem.

My friend like many brides is shopping on a budget and is immediately upfront with Teresa about this. And I quote. My friend: “I’m working with a budget of about $500 for my dress, I really would like to stay under this.” Teresa (Sales expletive deleted from hell): “Well that sort of thing doesn’t really matter, it’s all about the dress as you know and it doesn’t matter how much it costs.” This money hungry sales lady is obviously working off of commission and continues to push the most expensive dresses on her. Third Problem.

Teresa proceeds to have my friend try on a David’s Bridal “designer” dress that is outside of her budget by some guy who isn’t even alive and designing anymore but David’s Bridal is releasing dresses under his name. Teresa goes on to say that he designed for Jackie Kennedy, do you girls even know who that is?! Like we are infants. Fourth Problem.

I simply can’t hold my tongue anymore. My friend is up there on her dressing stage trying to fake that she is having fun while she is really just getting more and more depressed. This is supposed to be light and fun and a very positive experience! I finally had to step in and tell the lady that from then on out, she would not be telling the bride that she has to make another single decision and that she (Teresa) was not allowed in her (the bride) fitting room because I would be taking over her duties for her.

I am posting this because my friend is too embarrassed to and as a warning to other new brides - because no one should have to be treated like that, especially not when they are preparing for the biggest day of their life.

HORRIBLE!! Don't shop here

Talk about high pressure. My wedding day is supposed to be the best day of my life and a happy moment, but after shopping here! ICK- they showed me dresses I didn't like and tried to pressure me into buying- I made an appoinment as that is the only way I could get anyone to talk to me, then they were 30 minutes LATE getting to ME! when I found one I kinda liked, I almost lost it when they quoted alteration costs! gezzzz- it was almost as much as the dress! over $700! just for alterations! I couldn't get out of there fast enough! It you don't mind being treated like a number and a no-body- this would be the place for you to shop. BEWARE- you will probably walk out with a dress you really don't like because of the high pressure and paying way more than you should! I had friends of mine tell me (after I made the mistake of going there) the awful experiences they had there-how the dress was wrinkled when they got it & they were told that they would press the dress but only if they had the alterations done there. After the quote on the alterations, they decided to take the dress elsewhere to have it pressed and altered! that saved them money. One of my friends showed me her veil still in the dinky plastic bag the store gets them from the warehouse in- not pressed and still creased and wrinkled- after spending over $165 for a veil! and not wrinkle free??? Not one person I asked said they had a good experience there.
