The Greene County Sheriff s Department is a full-service law enforcement agency that operates patrol, detective, K-9, marine, traffic, motorcycle, SWAT and domestic violence divisions. The department operates a peer support team that provides peer support and critical incident stress management activities to the department personnel and their families. The Greene County Sheriff s Department also offers planning, coordination, response support and communication services. The department also operates a citizen s police academy that organizes a variety of safety-related programs for civilians. The Greene County Sheriff s Department operates an explosive ordnance disposal squad that identifies and disposes of improvised hazardous devices, explosives, small arms ammunitions and law enforcement chemicals.
