Located in Suffolk, Va., Nansemond- Suffolk Academy is an independent, non-profit, college-preparatory day school that offers an academic program Founded in 1966, it serves more than 1,000 students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Its syllabus includes English, mathematics, science, social studies, language arts and music. The school also conducts classes in history, photography, computer applications, environmental science and ancient world history. It operates a parent-teacher organization that conducts several fundraising events and programs. The school employs over 150 teaches, as well as offers food and transportation services. Nansemond- Suffolk Academy provides various sports programs, including basketball, baseball, and track and field. In addition, it organizes summer and before- and after-school programs.
