Encore Theatre has been putting on quality performances for about 30 years now. The idea for the theatre was a reaction of certain individuals in Tulare to a proposition that cut a school summer program. Originally the theatre performed where they could until they moved in the to the old building on N Street where they have performed since.Encore Theatre puts on five shows a year, four from August to May and one during the summer, which all have open casting, that is to say anyone may audition for the shows. Each of the four seasonal shows has six weeks of rehearsal and performs for three weeks.
