      General Info
      The Public Works Department, governed by the City of Valley in Alabama, is responsible for maintaining the city's infrastructure. It maintains sidewalk, roads, rights-of-ways, trees, buildings and grounds. The department handles cost control and quality assurance matters. The Public Works Department operates administration, landscaping, street and animal control divisions. Its landscaping division is engaged in planting flowers, pruning shrubbery and caring trees. The street division cuts grass and repairs and cleans shoulders, storm drains, driveways, gutters, culverts and drainage systems. It is also responsible for the installation of street signage. The Public Works Department provides a mosquito eradication program. The department maintains a staff of more than 20 employees.
