A Place Where We Learn While Doing the Things We Love (One Adult for Every 3 Children)

General Info
Nestled on the campus of Brandeis University, Lemberg Children's Center develops children, families, teachers, researchers...and ultimately the field of early childhood education itself...in a warm family environment. Lemberg Children's Center is an educational day care center and preschool in easy driving or transit distance of Waltham, Newton, Wellesley, Needham, Lexington, Arlington, Belmont, Lincoln and Watertown. Watch your child blossom from the time spent at the Lemberg Children's Center. Our outgoing, friendly and family-centered professional educators welcome all children and treat them with attention, respect and warmth. Our flexible and creative curriculum is based on developmental theories and encourages children to understand that play is an important way in which to learn. We are committed to family/staff cooperation and community service, and welcome children who speak different home languages, celebrate different traditions and have diverse abilities. Lemberg accepts children who are 22 months to 6 years old. Three groups - Rainbows, Explorers, and Thunderbirds - engage in activities designed to support their interests and development. Your Child Will Love His Time at Lemberg, and So Will You Enroll your child in a camp that promotes self-awareness and a commitment to bettering our world while we play. Our Creative Connections day camp provides an enjoyable, creative school vacation week for children in grades K-5. Campers learn about conflict resolution through various activities in the arts, humanities and sciences. Two small groups (grades K-2 and 3-5) explore art in the Rose Art Museum, our habitat of 300 extraordinary acres and build safe environments through a supportive and joyful curriculum. The summer program curriculum is drawn from the interests of the children (emergent) and planned around themes that take the children on trips of fantasy to explore the wonders of distant places and to our own backyard, which is this extraordinary university campus. Summer Camp is designed so parents can select and pay only for the weeks they need in the summer. Though mostly comprised of children who either attended or will attend the Lemberg Children's Center school-year program, all children are welcome. Our program is intentionally small — around 25 children each week, subdivided into two groups. These groups generally consist of: * Toddlers between the Ages of 22 Months to 4 Years * Children between the Ages of 4 and 6, or Rising Thunderbirds
