Doesn't matter about their expertise or professionalism. The doc goes out of town for 2 weeks at a time and her backup plan is to go see another vet or take your pet to an emergency room. My dog was seen on the 29th, today is the 8th, he's getting worse every day and still no response from the doctor. That sucks. I would give them 0 stars if that was an option.

The staff was nice but I wan not impressed with their diagnostic abilities at all. For almost 2 years the Vet told us my GSD had Hip dysplasia and prescribed the standard meds at around $60 a month. When I finally decided to put him to sleep I decided to go with a well known and regarded traveling vet. The cost was higher but Decorah's vet had really stressed my GSD out when taking blood and I did not want that to happen again, especially at such a sensitive time. The traveling vet came to the house and within 2 minutes he told us that Sam has Spinal Degeneration and that there were no signs of dysplasia. So either the vet at Decorah was incompetent or they mis-diagnosed on purpose. There are no meds for degeneration, thus there is no way to profit off an honest diagnosis.

So glad we switched to Decorah Animal Hospital for our pet care! Dr. Bauman and her staff are great!

We have been taking our pets there since we moved to the area some 20+ years ago. Everyone has been so great even in the saddest moments. Highly recommend Decorah Animal Hospital without any hesitation.

Dr. Bauman and her staff are very professional, but they are also very personable and it is obvious they care about your pets and are there to help. I've been with them for years, and from routine checkups to the sad visits when it is time to let go of an older pet, they have been fantastic to the animals and to the humans who love them.
