I've known Ben for over 20 years, starting when he was at the Excellent O&J Automotive on Chicago's north side, to his shop at Willow and Shermer in Northbrook and now at his current location. They tell you what they're going to do and they do it. No suprises. I recently was quoted $520 for the installation of simply 4 brake pads at my local Nissan dealership. With Hong Kong, they took the time to Check on pricing for the pads - found an excellent set for me, did the pads, turned the rotors, checked and adjusted the calipers and did the fluids, all while I waited. And because I'm currently unemployed, Ben personally reduced the cost by $200. When they say they want you as a customer for life, they mean it. I've trusted him with every car I've owned.

I needed to get two tires installed on some expensive rims. I brought them to duxler tire in Wilmette and asked them to do it. I told the guy that he cant scratch them because they are for a show car. He told me that it cant be done and he dosent want to touch them. He claimed to be the owner of all the Duxlers. I didn't believe him because of how rude he was. I decided to bring them to Hong Kong auto. They changed them for me in 20 minutes wile i waited. Cleaned the wheels and balanced them with all of the weights hidden behind the spokes. NOT A SCRATCH. Very nice friendly staff. Never go to Duxler just go to Hong Kong auto.

The owner and head mechanic, Ben, is a stand-up guy. He provides quality service and appears genuine. I don't think he overcharges customers. The only problem is that his shop is more expensive than most chains because they don't have the negotiating power larger organizations have. It's quality work that you can trust, but you'll have to pay extra for it.
