I recently brought my vehicle to Winooski Auto Service. It was a very foolish mistake on my part. I dropped my auto off for replacement of a tie rod end that I did not have time to replace myself. It took all day for the work to be completed when in reality it is about an hours worth of labor. When I arrived, the proprietor took his time getting my truck off the lift which was in plain sight and had no work being done on it (an hour while he talked to me about things unrelated to my repairs). He ended up charging me 2.5 hours of labor. I asked what had taken so long for a simple repair and he said that he "had to do a lot of running around, and had to help a lady in the parking lot with a radiator low on fluid". I do not see how that would effect the hours i am being charged. On his sign he stated that it was roughly 65 dollars an hour, he charged me 80 dollars an hour. The replacement took all day and cost me 300 dollars. When i confronted him he was very evasive in answering my questions at the cost. The issue that really ticked me off is when i inspected it when I got back to my house I found that he had blown out the rubber grease boot and had made a shoddy attempt to wire the boot back together and hoped I would not notice. I DO NOT recommend this establishment for any work you may need on your vehicle.
