GREAT JOB! ULTIMATELY GOOD RESPONSE TO AN ISSUE. This is revised review. My initial rating of them (low) was due not to the quality of their work, which was awesome, but to their handling of a claim for damage caused by an accident. While it took time, they were ultimately accommodating and fair in their response.

We first used this company when relocating to the area last year. We hired them to help us quickly unload a rental truck we had packed with our belongings. The crew they sent was great and worked hard. They even arrived 30 minutes early.

So when we moved from our apartment into a our new home this year we didn’t hesitate to contact them. Again, they arrived 30 minutes early and worked hard.

Then it happened. An accident which damaged a precious sentimental piece. But we had wisely purchased the “full repair or replacement” protection plan. I immediately contacted the company and a supervisor arrived within 15 minutes. After gathering a few details he took the clock to begin the process.

While the resolution did and will take some time, a lot of that was on the slowness of my response and due to some email filtering issues. They will be having an expert craftsman repair the piece and I look forward to having it restored to me in good condition.

Honestly, if not for the unfortunate mishap, this would have been one of the most glowing reviews I had ever written. I have adjusted my rating accordingly. Their crew works hard and how many moving companies consistently (at least in my experience) arrive EARLY!

Accidents can happen, and while it did with us in our recent move, I suspect our experience is more the exception than the rule. Still, it wouldn’t hurt to purchase the “full repair or replacement” protection plan, just in case your experience is among the exceptions. It’s worth the piece of mind.

Amy at American moving and hauling was very unprofessional. After reading on the website that I should inform them of any large items I called and explained that I had a large granite dinning room table that took 4 men to lift on previous moves. Amy reassure me that her (2) men could handle the job. I restated my concern, but left it to the professionals to do their job. My concern was that they if they struggled to lift the table they would either break it or they would take up more time than needed for my move. Well, the latter happened. It took over 45 minutes to move my dining room table alone. Another gentleman was called out to assist. When I called Amy, she stated that she didn't not know that the table was that heavy and would have to charge me for the extra time and extra man even though I stated my concerns up front. (IT CLEARLY STATES TO TELL YOU WHEN YOU HAVE LARGE ITEMS AND I DID, WHAT MORE COULD I DO?) I had she been diligent into quoting me an accurate price or at least mentioning that it was possible that I could be charged extra I could have been prepared. When the gentlemen arrived at my house they had not been informed of the heavy table and asked several times had I mentioned this. Throughout my discussion with Amy, she never apologized and only stated that she couldn't understand why I was making a big deal and acted as if she was doing me a favor. In business when you make a mistake it shouldn't be the customers responsibility to pay for it.
